Cactus Jill in the house!

@abouttime they are using calculated schedule timed cuts :scissors:, and they have learned where and how to cut from how ? I’m sure they have made all the same mistakes I’ve made as well , now I can only speak from my personal experiences with autos , but I’ve never top them but twice most time once, cause to much cutting inappropriately will cause them to hermaphrodite regardless to videos its science ! Now it’s at her risk if she wants to Edward Scissor :scissors: hand her auto , I would suggest at least learn how to dry and cure it first before you grow to much to waste as a rookie in m y opinion , I can be wrong ; but I’m I’m right : I can still be right if I’m wrong you know she doing the growing and I hope she don’t over it do it and make herm.

Admittedly, I am not one of those growers.

My current grow is my first attempt at autos, but there does seem to be a number of growers that I follow (based upon their documentation of process and subsequent results/pictures/data) that do indeed prune, and with better results than not pruning. Not2Sure is one. And now I’m gonna have to hunt down ScrewAu’s grow to pick up some brainfood.

I will have to read from the top here. But from what I have seen scrolling up some. I agree with what @yoshi is telling you. When it comes to autos. Their are a lot more variables to consider when doing things compared to a photo. I have topped more than a few autos 5 times in veg. Never a hermi. How ever. As @yoshi mentioned. The bud size seem to decrease when doing so. I did it just to see if I could. I could but there was no benefit that I saw for my self. The biggest factor in how you grow your auto will fall in if you are in soil. Or some thing like coco or hydro. In soil. You have a much shorter veg window most of the time. And with that. You can be more aggressive with the plants. In the end. You will find it takes time to get every thing dialed in so you are really comfortable doing autos. I have learned a lot over the years. The most important thing I have learned was. Grow your own plant. meaning, if you see some one feeding 1500ppms. That doesn’t mean you can. Different grow mediums an nutrient lines change every thing. Lights as well. You have found there are a lot in here to help with what ever you may need. :+1: I do well with autos. But am still learning. I learn as much from a new person as a veteran. Every one looks at things a little different and do things a little different. That is what is so great about this place. Always some thing new to learn each day. Or at least I see it that way. I will tag along in the shadows now
It looks like you are off to a great start  :+1:

It would be so neat to see that in person! I was impressed by my first fan leaf :blush:

I like that. Grow your own plant. That’s true… no ones growing the same way I am (all factors considered) so it’s trial and error for what will work for me. I trimmed off a bunch of the ones truly blocking and the super crunchy dead ones I had to tuck anyway (I was nervous they’d run against the newer growth with the fan blowing and be an issue) so I trimmed a touch and left a little. A pinch of both sides and we’ll see how she does; maybe next time I lollipop my auto (omg jk jk jk) don’t yell at me! Haha I have 14 more auto seeds I could experiment with all sorts of things!

I’ve been lurking and reading and have only been growing autos for 3 grows now but much longer with bag seed photos. One thing I can add is that my first autos and my last were ILGM blueberrys. Every one of them went yellow on the leaves early into flower, right next to autos that were chopped fully green. Their blueberry strain eats itself early on in flower and nothing I threw at them stopped it. Zkittlez turned purple mid flower and amnesia haze yellowed in late flower. Northern lights and blue dream autos stayed green until chop. I say it is genetics and if any one finds a way to keep blueberry from yellowing I sure hope they share their info how they did it. My grow bro here grew out a BBA I gave him in Promix HP in a controlled enviroment with CO2 and he hit 5’ tall and pulled 11oz. off 1 auto. It yellowed on him in flower and he was bashing himself not knowing why. With those results…

@fast-grow you don’t want to judge autos on those. Every person I know that has got the ILGM bb autos have found out they are pretty much junk seeds. I have tossed all I had from them as well. Their other autos seem to do well. it is just the BBa that are problem ones. They know it so I am not sure why they still sell them. I could point you to a lof of good breeders for autos though. Even any other strain from ilgm would do you good :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
@BigMommaC autos like trimmed up. I do all mine at the end of 3 weeks in flower. Both under and up top. Light on the top lol

Actually it is my favorite smoke… Not the most powerful but tasty, smooth smoke and a very nice mellow stone that gives me a full nights sleep. I just pulled the trigger on 20 LSD and 20 Lemon Haze autos from the last sale on ILGM,. Autos have a place in my rotation and I WILL figure out the best way to grow them in my environment.
Pretty sure that @BigMommaC will too…

That’s actually a relief to know… Since this one as a blueberry auto LOL
Altho I know I was probably more than just a normal way itself lol my ph is so so and inconsistent so I’m not shrugging it off. Totally bookmarking the traits you listed so when I grow those I know what to expect!!!

11oz… that’s just… I have no idea what the hell id do with all that :rofl::exploding_head:

I water just now at 5.8 right and my run off was 7.5 and to me that’s is perfect ppm is 2650 us/cm 5680 I believe and they are loving it , way to hot on the nitrogen at 7.5 opps I forgot my mixes and did not have my piles mix right but no worries , I’ll just wait until they tell me what’s next in about 2-3 days , oh that’s it , 5-8-4 & 5-4-2 plus 5mls of grow with micro to hot , oh woo but they seem to love it for now so until they say otherwise I’m just hurrying up and wait ! Let the plants call the Jury !

So I screwed up the last post…here it is corrected…if some one could get rid of the top one I’d appreciate it… who the hell needs 2 of these long winded comments!!!

Ok guys lots opinions on it so there’s lots of possibilities right!!
So, I NEVER said top the autos (tho I did on my ILGM Sour Diesel by mistake early on in veg like I would a photo because I didnt mark the solo cup right and she was a monster (last year on my page) and an almost perfect example of old school Sour Diesel, and I was impressed. The one I’m running now, has been in cold temps all spring. I ran her in amd out of the house under a QB during the night and sunlight during the day and she turned purple.
First pics are the top that fell off and has been early tested. ;-). With flash and without.
And the bottom 2 are outside and inside with a flash. She gets chopped tomorrow.

These two that are finally flipping after going into 18-6 this week from 24-7 for 3 months are ILGM GG4 auto and an i49 Cheese auto. The GG4 is 38" tall and the Cheese 34"… the pics are a few days ago.

I pruned however, the biggest fan leaves 2 x and they bounce back like gang busters IMHO and I bent and tied them over to expose their sides for a week at a time. When they were seedlings, just a week old, I pet the top petals down softly 2x a day during the next 2 weeks to promote bottom growth. This seems to me, to strengthen the plant stalk and promotes some more vigorous growth.
They are a little taller tonite and starting the buttons almost. Here they all are in the garage for the nite with a fan ofcourse. I turned on the garage light real quick to get the pic. (Ohhhh nooooo!!!)
The Gelatos are in the pic too. One is on the far left propped up, theater is in the flower on the right. That single top is noteworthy!

look at the picture and also notice that it doesn’t even look like I pruned the two big girls 2 weeks ago…

The Gelatos I did not touch either in this way because I’m afraid they won’t finish in time for a planned Vacay.

They are from different breeders and slightly different Gelatos as well.
A Loud Gelato OG and a Monster Genetics Gelato. They have flipped on their own after 4 weeks…no real training, straight FF soil and 20% extra perlite only. Just ph water no extra nutes, no Tribus, no petting, no pruning,

Now it doesn’t work all the time as far as for me but the 3 I wanted big, 2 out of 3 got big. But the Diesel was actually also over 30" high before one of her topped tops broke off from being cropped because it was getting too tall just before it flipped… The two I wanted to stay quick and small, are quick to flip and sure are small.
How I see it is this, no cutting in veg at all
tho if you do, it doesn’t really mean it’s going to be a disaster. But when they get into flower, it’s just like a photo period flower time, except you can’t go back and veg it, tho I’m sure someone is doing it but I’m not sure there’s is any advantage to waiting for that to happen again except maybe to preserve a great genetic/phenotype.
I have gotten 2 or 3 seeds even out of some autos because like a photo, even with perfect conditions and no light leaks, no stresses at all a plant will make a all female seed to preserve itself for the future. When they are denied that pollination after working so hard to make herself as sticky as possible to catch just one grain of pollen to guarantee her genes survival, they will make a seed. This doesn’t mean she hermied. A hermie is a hermaphrodite. That’s a plant that has both female buds and male sacks of pollen. And is usually a result of a faulty bred line. Well bred plants have the breeder culling out those plants in a run and re running what’s left a few times to guarantee these traits are bred out before introducing to the public.
Some breeders are doing the work right and some are doing their best but kinda winging it…
My ILGM seeds have been a pleasure for the most part, when I get everything right.
The single line seeds I have found in the best weed I have smoked have all been female.
At the moment my Vader OG was from a zip seed. And it’s a monster.

Lives Jacks 321 like all of my plants now and all I add is Tribus and Molasses at the end during the last 4 weeks of flower.
