Needed a reliable way to power the 240 volt ballast
As well as the 120 volt circuits and the hvac controls.
So the timer controls the 120 volt coil on the contactor that feeds the bottom outlet that powers the ballast. There is a toggle that will bypass the timer circuit if needed. The transformer provides 24volts to the thermostat which monitors temp, humidity and carbon dioxide. When heat is needed a damper in the lighting ventilation will divert the hot light from the lights back into the room instead of outside or into one of the smaller rooms which will be added sooner or later. The co2 feature will enable a relay to feed co2 if I ever decide to add some meanwhile it will at least monitor the levels.
One of these days I hope to know half this much about growing.

Well it’s been a busy weekend. Next weekend finish the walls inside install the new thermostat and Mylar on the walls and the curtains I’m making to reduce the lighted grow space to 3.5x4 ft. This week going to wash some coco and start some gorilla glue seeds. Oh yeah and do my day job. Ugh, Monday

I’d use 250 watt MH for seed starting and the first couple weeks at about 18-20 inches above the plants then move to 400 watt MH at 24" for the rest of veg. 2 x 600 watt HPS will be fine for flowering a 4x8 area (even better if a little smaller as you’re going).
@Hellraiser Great to hear, I have some gorilla glue seeds to start. Going to do a coco and jacks grow in this room. What would in your opinion would be the most productive way to do this
@Hellraiser , i have a few diff brands of coco and not sure if washed so I think I should to be certain what I’m starting with. Would you hydrate it with the jacks or with ro water to clean then jacks? Thanks for your help. I know you’re probably more busy than me with work and ho e and likely an endless flow of requests for help.

I’d go with 4 plants under each 600 watt HPS in flowering, in 5 gal final pots.
I just hydrate with Jacks since the Canna coco bricks I use is pre-washed, kinda why I chose it. If I didn’t know whether a coco was pre-washed or not then I would rinse it first (and squeeze out excess water) and then load it up with Jacks.

First, I don’t know how to just add to my feed here without just replying to the last response if someone can point me in the right direction.
3/23 I placed 6 gorilla glue seeds in water and peroxide next day seeds cracked with tiny tails so hydrated some coco with jacks 123 and planted the seeds in clear solo cups inside red solo cups and domed under a metal halide dimmed to 300 watts and about 30 inches over the dome which is on a heated mat. This afternoon i checked and the light is fine ( its in a cool tube with a fan ducted ) and the condensation is working nicely temps are 80 degrees in dome. Now waiting. Then i realized in my hurry to hydrate and get the seeds in coco i forgot to ph the ro jacks mix. Hopefully all will be well. I posted this somewhere else but here is where i wanted to share my excitement. Can’t wait to meet the girls.

Was going to drywall but had lots of these ceiling tiles and they insulate good so now going to put up mylar

So the duct comes out of the grow room to the tee. Just past the tee I installed a damper with a actuator that’s connected to the heat output on the thermostat. When the that in the room calls for heat the damper closes and the air goes down the tee to a fitting ducting the warm air from the lights back into the room meaning my space heater doesn’t have to work as hard. More to do but for now the new babies have a home.

@beardless this was pretty easy to do and it automatically puts the warm air off my lights back into the room when needed and in the future off that run going to the left I will probably do another for adding heat to the next room or tent. Always plenty of heat coming off the hid lights but if I can use the heat instead of running a heater then the hid pays a little back.
