The compounds that you want to keep in cannabis are hydrophobic and not impacted by water. However they would be damaged if the water was too cold, too hot or agitated to break the trichomes. Again I would only treat for that long to correct for a major issue to the crop at harvest. Heavy WPM, mites, dust storm outside, etc. Normal indoor washing is not normally that intense. The method @Myfriendis410 suggested is the common practice.
1 cup baking soda 1 cup lemon juice to five gals
Nice chop! I agree with @Dexterado on wash
Why do people say lemon just and baking soda ?
Will that work alone just peroxide ? Why do some many say we need baking soda and lemon juice
So I should just use 1 cup peroxide per 5 gallons water cool water ⦠swish around for 3 minutes or so and have 2 clean fresh buckets to rinse aside ? Ok cool I see ur a moderator you must know something why do so many people (Iām on 10 forums) say backing and lemon juice is essential) due to rising the ph above 8 or something ā¦.but if you say hydrogen peroxide works for everything Iāll do that method ā¦let me know asap what you think please and thanks
Why not peroxide
Best to do peroxide first then baking soda but some people say just 3 percent hydrogen peroxideā¦.

That method works for everything bugs mold ā¦etc?
Peroxide only targets pretty much everything that you want to remove from your plant material. I do a 5 gallon bucket of tap water, 1 cup of 3% for 6 minutes then use the garden hose to rinse off. Drip dry then dry as normal. Peroxide will attack organic material on the plants like mildew and insect larva and dislodge it so it rinses away. Iāve never found a need to rinse in other media.
Just watched that video. Seems terrible to have to wash the buds but actually after watching the vid and reading some comments sounds like could b a GD idea everytime. Especially after outside grow.
I was sceptical of doing a bud wash. Im old school and never herd of a bud wash till 3 yrs ago. I was out of the grow game for 20 years soā¦
But after reading and research i did a test run with a couple plants. I washed some and didnt wash other buds off the same plant. The smoke was better in flavor and just as stoney as the buds i didnt wash. I also did a side by side comparison with grove.bags vs jars for curing. Grove bags won. Except for long term storage. When im unsure about something that i can test myself, i will. Just how im built i guess. But i do a bud wash everytime now. Indoor or outdoor problems or no problems i wash my buds. The smoke is just better because of itā
Hi Mr. Newt I have learned a lot from you. Hereās pictures
The plant by the white fan is ilgm own LSD seed I entered in bom
Very well done!
Thanks very much for this! First-time grower here, with giant outdoor plants. Iām ALWAYS testing theories in my organic veg gardens. You did it for me with weed.
Yup.
Floaters donāt make good smoking additives.
I donāt understandā¦.shocked by how clean the water in the wash was? I cut and washed one of my little ones yesterday, and I was surprised by how little schmutz came from the buds. You and I are on similar schedules and in similar circumstances, I think, so Iām curious.
I do H2O2 soak and I have forgot them for hours or even some times overnight ( am easily sidetracked). After it oxidizes the nasties it is more less water.
Drip dry, cover them in baking soda, and put in bucket of white vinegar water solution. After the reaction is over I rinse very well and hang them up to dry.
Iāve done it backwards before when I had to run out for H2O2. I just wet the plant first that time so the baking soda would stick.
Best to you!
The plant I washed was a Notorious thc this sat directly under a very tall pine tree.
Pine sap, pollen and raid dust.
This bush I grew had single to triple fan leaves. A shit load of them.
When I defoliated this I should have been a little more aggressive.
Maybe it wouldnāt have trapped so much shit.
Iām doing another plant tonight this oneās called Trainwreck.
Iāll take pictures of that and of the water you put them on here Iām assuming itās going to be a lot less cuz thereās a lot less leaf material.
