Bubbleheads first grow

It went great. It was a long day. He’s resting and recovering. Time for me to relax and smoke a fat one. :v::green_heart:

Very glad to hear that! My stepfather had quintuple by pass 12 years ago. It is truly amazing what doctors and nurses can do. I’m always in awe.

Oh my my did I find I made a mistake tonight! I watered my photo to run off tonight. My ppm meter read 321 I thought to myself, self that’s not too bad 1321. Then I realized I had been doing the math wrong all this time. I was suppose to multiply by 10. So instead of 1321 it was 3210. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth: No wonder my plants have been pissed at me they all had nute lock of some typ. I flushed her and got her ppms to 500. That was what I did for my other plants and the have taken off. I’m sure she will be much happier now.

Sometimes I scare myself. Good thing these are weeds and very hearty. Moral of story understand your instruments before using.

I’m a notorious over feeder. A big reason I use coco now. Literally what I put in is what it is. Sure I feed and water more, but I’m always up in my plants shizz and enjoy the work.

Should did adjust my lighting schedule for daylight savings? The 7p To 7am sure makes my life easier than a 6-6 schedule. I don’t think the extra hour of dark when I’m making the switch will hurt anything.

I changed my timer last fall 1 hour and it didn’t hurt it at all. :sunglasses:

Weekly update with pictures. Since flushing the autos a week ago they have really taken off. I have a few weeks to go but can see the end approaching. I’m researching the proper methods for trimming and drying. I really don’t want to get that far and lose the crop to mold. The plant that was giving me fits earlier with the droopy leaves is doing great as well as the one with spotted leaves.

Enjoy the pictures.

Anyway…I find it interesting how I just seem to keep chasing problems. My photo had run off last week greater than 3k so I flushed her and gave her 1/2 nutes, around 500ppm. She still looks like she is struggling but it has only been a couple of days since the flush. I took a picture of her in natural light. See below. If someone could help me diagnose her deficiency I’d appreciate it. I have a guess but every time I’ve guessed I’ve been wrong. :face_with_head_bandage:

Your pH is off, try checking it again at the roots. I read on another internet site and seen pics of leaves just like yours.

I second the PH… possibly shifting after you water or feed?

Does your nutes PH shift if you let them sit for an hour or 2 before you feed? Try testing this.

Undisolved anything…? Try fine filtering your nutes before feed to see if it leaves insoluble traces behind that could be sitting in your media potentially shifting your PH

Sorry, I’ve been busy lately. So how’s she doing?

@GreenJewels Thanks for asking, she is hanging in there. I released her from some of the bondage last night and I think she liked that . Through some help on the forum, local grow shop and a professional grower I think I have it figured out. One thought was the pH is out of wack. One was that I needed to get her more P. She had just been flushed and my pH was 6.6 high for ProMix. I think she will be ready for moisture either tomorrow or Friday. I pulled a slurry last night and he pH was at 6.7. Looking at the chart for soilless 6.7 is way too high. At that point the plant will not pick up P or K. As we know P is kinda important in flowering. So it looks like the high pH is causing P not to be utilized. Making both recommendation correct.

At the end of the day it was all my fault I’ve been seeing the higher pH from this plant for a few weeks. I just did not react quick enough and now the poor girl is paying. I will say she is a trooper. She is super frosty and when I open the tent the wonderful aroma almost knocks me over.

I’m going to feed her with a low pH and try to get her a little more healthy for the final 3-5 weeks of flowering. I’m sure it has affect my yield but once I figured out that this is more than sowing a seed, watering it and giving it light, I knew I’d make a few bone head mistakes the first time through. I’ll be better for it next time.

I’m glad she’s frosty and doing well. That’s how I learn best is through my mistakes. We get better with every grow. Sounds like you’re on the right track. Thank goodness these weeds take our abuse and still survive. :v::green_heart:

Hi @Bubblehead, I finally made it through your thread (slow reader), despite the ups and downs your girls look wonderful, you’re going to have some really nice buds when they’re done. Mistakes are fine and should to a point be embraced, best way to learn. :slightly_smiling_face:

Crazy weed…even with me trying to kill it with high pH it still insists on surprising me. Started to get some color shift to purple today. This is what I found at lights on. At this rate I think it may finish before my autos, wouldn’t that be something. I may have me a little Jack after all.
