Definitely transplant them before you leave, the one gallon will be fine till you get back.
Transplant before you leave.
Me personally, I would transplant to their final home.
@GreenJewels First off, I hope you feel better soon. They are photos. They will be a day short of 2 weeks when I leave.
@raustin After transplanting into 1-gallon pots how much water should they receive. My sitter will want to know āspecificsā wellā¦as close as possible.
They might be big enough to water to runoff, but I canāt recommend that without looking at the plants. I should say a cup or two of water.
I donāt think they will be that big but I may be surprised over the next 3 to 5-days. Iām surprised almost daily with this adventure. Iāll post some pictures when Iām done.
Yup 1 gallons work for a step up transplant. Tell the sitter only giveām a half a cup or so every 3-4 days. And water around the edges. They will be fine since so young n barely drinking. If u have a small dome to use itll help them drink even less.
Also late but im here and watching. Good luck n welcome to our little piece of heaven
Thanks for the well wishes sounds like these great growers gave you great advice. I have a height restriction so I only grow autoflower⦠for now anyway autos are a little more finicky on transplants with their short lifespan. Your girls will be fine. It will be cool you can come home and see all the growth that happened while you were gone. Happy growing
Interesting how 12-hours can change your environment. When I checked the girls last night every thing looked great. This morning soil on 7 of them was dryer than a popcorn fart . I watered them with 30ml of water, pH 6.5, tds 255. Hoping this little bit of water will please them and help keep the soil from crumbling when I transplant.
My lovely wife reminded how busy we are going to be over the next 4 days so I had to move the transplant date. I either hurt them or helped them. The water that I gave this morning did little to keep the soil together. Most were dry and the soil just held together long enough to transplant. @PurpNGold74 Added a cup of water to each, watering around the outside of the pot. Two had roots caught in the bottom of the cups I was able to free them without too much work or damage. Hopefully, over the next 4 days they respond well and I can go on vacation nice and relaxed. I finished 1 1/2 hours before lights out. Little light before bed and a nice relaxing sleep for the girls.
You did good by the transplant. Although I thought you were supposed to transplant before watering? Iām sure a soil grower can give pointers on transplanting.
Where are you from if you donāt mind me asking? Just state nothing specific.
@DoobieNoobie Thanks, everything I read said to water plants a day or two before transplanting. Everyone looks healthy and happy this morning! I think I had more stress than the plants. Michigan where nearly 60% of the population recently voted rec legal. What state are you in?
Enjoy life, this is not a dress rehearsal.
No! Try not. Do, or do not. There is no try. ~Yoda~
Iām in oklahoma. We got medical but didnāt get a chance to vote on recreational because of a lack of signatures on the petition to add it to the ballot. And worse because of the way the law is written we need X% of the last election amount of signatures to add something to the ballot. So because of the high turn out of voters for the medical bill we now need a much larger amount of signatures. So weāre going to need a miracle to get rec here.
@DoobieNoobie I guess I can see the purpose of the law needing more signatures. I donāt understand how they can apply it to rec. I see them as two different ballot initiatives.
Well we fell short of the mark last time. But because the amount of signatures needed to add a law to the ballot is based on voter turnout it went up for future attempts. Itās stupid but because the way the law is written thereās nothing we can do. And worse it has a time limit on how long you can collect signatures so itās not like we can just keep collecting. I think it was 90 days from first to last or something. But because of all those together itāll be hard to get it. At least until people see that medical didnāt turn us into a 3rd world country. So a few years we might try it again. Or maybe our legislature will wake up and do it for us eventually.
Medical has been legal for 10-years here. The legislature as well as the population was very confident it would pass this time. The legislature could have made it happen before the vote and put all the restriction they thought necessary but did not want to look Pro Cannabis, so the sat on their hands doing nothing. After it was passed one tried to change it but needed a super majority and his changes failed.
I just had family Christmas today and we discussed the new law a little. My sister and brother in law were on the fence. My parents were against but did not know why. Ironically it was 1030 am and they were all sitting around drinking bloody merryās and beer. Not that Iām a teatodler but my wife and I just looked at each other shook our heads.
My parents surprised me by voting for medical. In fact Iāll be taking a canna butter cube out for her to try in a few days. She wonāt smoke so this is the only way sheāll try. But I donāt think they wouldāve voted yes on rec. Again I think thatāll change in time. So yeah weāll probably take 10 years here to lol. But the good news is since ours was a public initiative the way the law is worded itās hard for the legislature here to mess with it. And thereās basically no limit on what is a medical reason. So Iāve got friends that already have cards and theyāve got no major medical issues. Mine was easy to justify. And the amounts we can have are decent. Iām sure Iāll pass the limits eventually though.
Day 9
It was a good week. The transplanting went well and the plants have accepted their new homes. Even my little gal is trying to rally, for the life of me I canāt figure out how she got so wet. Battling high humidity right now. After the transplant my tent humidity jumped to 85%, humidifier is not running. I have a couple of techniques Iām working on to reduce the humidity.
One item I am a little confused on is how much water to give during a transplant? When I transplanted I watered sparingly, only a cup. I read something today that indicated when transplanting you should water enough to moisten the soil completely or it may become hydrophobic. The transplanting was done 3-days ago. Should I make sure the soil is moist next time I water or should I continue to water sparingly? @raustin @PurpNGold74 @DoobieNoobie
Looks good
Either way, you should always water sparingly for seedlings.
