Brucy has Got A Pimp Lean

Hey Guys,

So I’m ending week 2 of my Bruce Banner autoflower and she’s looking great(at least from a newb’s eyes) but she has a slight lean that I noticed this morning. Wanted to get the crews opinion on it. Is this normal, should I lower the lights? What all info do you guys need besides pics?

Soil:FFOF
Lights: Mars ts600
5 gal pots

Looks quite healthy. It looks like they are getting plenty of light from the node spacing. Is the plant leaning toward the direction of the light?

It’s in a grow tent so light is everywhere throughout on a 18/6 split. The only culprits I can think of is the humidifier light at night which I cover with a dark cloth(may need to tape over it) or maybe in the beginning I didn’t bury it deep enough.

I’m fairly certain it will straighten out as it grows, but you can help it by supporting it from the lean and it should be good in a day or two.

@CMichGrower thanks for the feedback. You mind diving a little deeper when you say “support”. Any steps I should be taking?

Try spinning the pot around, the light will direct it back the other way. I spin my pots every couple days. Seed to harvest. Supports? Meat skewers, pencils, etc. just something yiu can stick into the soil. Then get a bread tie, or an actual plant tie, pipe cleaner etc. this is where you can be creative. Lol. Then just loosely tie it to support. Don’t tie it to tight around the plant. Loose knot. And don’t use string that can cut through the stalk…like fishing line or something.

I use a thin wooden skewer stuck in the ground next to the plant, which is usually sufficient, but can be tied if necessary.

I’ve seen people use straightened out paper clips, and straws, and small stick laying on the rim of the pot providing support. It can be anything that holds it up for just a few days.

Your guidance worked guys! She’s looking beautiful this morning. I used a plastic tube that came with a order of prerolled papers and shes looking much better!

I’m new as well, still on my first grow and just a little further along than you are now.
You’ll get all the advice and help you need and then some here. The community is really friendly and helpful.
I’m excited to see your final product.

This is an amazing experience so far. Looking at nutes currently for the up coming weeks and thinking of going with advanced nutrients. From what I here it handles the ph balance for ya when feeding

I’m not very knowledgeable on what nutrients are better than others. I’m currently using fox farms trio, but don’t really have an opinion on it at this point.
I’d wait awhile before adding any nutrients though as the ocean forest soil you’re using should carry you to week 4-6 no problem.
I was in ffhf soil and didn’t need to add any nutrients until week 6 I believe. Every plant is different I guess, but from what I’ve read you’ll want to hold off a little while on the nutrients with that soil.

Updates on Bruce, she looks amazing. She shot up like a rocket this week! I’m approaching week 4 and my question is should I start LST this week or give it another week? I don’t plan to add nutes for another couple weeks as I’m growing in FFOF but I’ll be using advanced nutrients perfect pH.
