Brown and yellow

First time everything here… except being an avid fan. Used organic compost from friends farm w/ 4 blue dream feminized seeds. Soaked 24 hrs paper towel germ and 3 plant pop from soil in 2 days. A second one didn’t open up it just stopped growing. But the other 2… Beautiful water a little alkaline (8) after 5 days growing fast under 250 w cheap veg lights at 75 to 80° one started to yellow. Took outside for more sun…They both stopped growing for about 2 days. Then brown and crisping and its painful to watch I’ve read about too much nutes so I flushed the roots and put into fertilome for seedlings. 2 days and now under 300w 4500k lumen LED the top little set has a tip browning. I mixed a little root stim 4.10.3… couple tablespoons… soil ph is at 7 thought maybe it needed nitrogen. What can I do to stop the dying … poor little thing :frowning:

They don’t need any nutrients at this point. Long as your soil isn’t completely depleted of nutrients.

Looks like nute burn. They don’t need anything but water at this point, and very little at that.

It was only compost… too much natural nutrients??
It just won’t stop. Even after the soil change and I just tried couple table spoons water mixed w the root boost after I flushed them… I only water every couple days and I spray occasionally with water bottle.

Depends on what’s in the compost. Some are fine and some can be harsh.

It could be the root booster causing a problem. Cannabis doesn’t need much help and myco (later in the plant’s life) is probably the best thing someone can do for cannabis roots.

Get rid of that compost as its clearly doing harm and will continue to get even worse than they are now.

Go with a Cannabis friendly soil like Fox Farm Happy Frog. :+1:

The guy at our plant store said this was the best… for tomatoes… lol…

is this okay?

This is something to remember. This is a community that has plenty of knowledge and experience growing Cannabis. I would love to see the statistics of the grow experience on here. It will be more than some employee at a store. :+1::+1::+1:

So is this stuff bad?

You would be better off in a soil buffered for cannabis such as Roots Organics, Black Magic, or a Fox Farm product.

I would suggest Fox Farm Happy Frog for a new grower.

Yeah its not the best soil. It has also time release nutrients which will give you major headaches later on. Thus you need a Cannabis friendly soil like FF Happy Frog. Avoid the FFOF as its extremely hot for seedling and seeds. Experience is needed for FFOF in my humble opinion. Especially when its new and loaded with nutrients. :+1::+1:

 I appreciate it. These babies are sturdy little plants. I will update after soil situation is handled. And I appreciate the input. It’s awesome to have help

Only a dumb question is one never asked. I started growing May 2018 and I didn’t join any marijuana forums. I joined here Sept 23rd, 2019 because of one reason.

My Girl Scout Cookie grew over 6 feet tall. It had been growing since June 2019 and no flowers. A few days after joining here she started her pre-flowers.

I could have saved some cash if I would have joined first before buying anything.

Yeah you can. Start slow at first and increase the amount of time each day. But you will be walking into something that can make you say screw this crap.

Outdoors you have to deal with insects and what not.

I will tag @repins12 has done Gorilla grows so he probably can help you out. I stick to indoors. Its illegal here. And two…insects all year round. Three…the drug addicts will steal the plants here.
