Bridgelux Strip Light Build

I took my supplemental 3500k Strips apart and decided to build them out on a Rapid sink… I grew an awesome SSH with these before… gonna put ‘em back to use :+1:t2:

I built a couple Vero COB lights this year and I gotta say, I am not sure which I like better. Strip lights are sexy…

All i have done are strips. Have been watching cob builds and board builds and people getting the new rspec lights… and my strips just keep a churning along :joy:

Mine too: I built mine with enough of a dispersion so that I can slam mine down on top of the plants if I need real penetration (like 5" or so).

So how do rspec lights rate in this?

Rspec has a heavy dose of photo red/Far red. Very nice. I built a separate photo/Far red light

I am just finishing the EB strip build for my 8X8 tent.

208 2 ft strips on sixteen 1/4 inch aluminum plates, four plates in each 4X4 quadrant.

I am looking forward to comparing results to my main room which is a combination of COB’s (Vero) and Chilled Logic with UV and Red supplements.

I won’t have anything to put in the tent for over a month yet. I do have a pathetic SSH (genetically deficient) that is taking up space in the main room. I may decide to move it to the tent rather than throwing it out when there is no longer room for it in the main room.

Rspecs are the newest fangled contraption

You just finished that, didn’t you? I will be interested in your results. My strip build (gen 1 EB strips, 560mm, 24 watt, 80 cri, 3,000K, 10 each) are out of date now (not that I’m complaining!) but might take advantage of the newer tech and ‘sandwich’ some far red, or I might even build a dedicated veg light in a higher spectrum…no additional UV though.

I am continually amazed by these lights. I have mine turned down in mid flower! 12" height and 175 watts. In fairness the current one is getting sunlight for a few hours daily.

EB gen3 is slowly becoming available. They are of course little higher efficacy than gen2, but also now going to be available in 90cri and they have a slimmer slightly longer version as well.

90cri where that ‘far red’ stuff starts? Do they sell strips like the rspecs? Or are those board builds?

The longer wavelength peak is indeed shifted further into reds on 90cri models. There’s not any actual red leds on the strips, just different phosphor on the leds.

There are some strips available similar to r-spec boards. Plc photo boost strips, Samsung horticulture linear, and a few of the knock offs from Alibaba.
