@Bracketh
When do yu start feeding tea? Or do yu start when they’d re seedlings?
@Cap_Ron
Is this when yu would top? Just asking I’m not goin too! Lol
I’m starting my teas at half strength about 3 weeks from sprout for the first 2 teas then full strength after that.
@Strat3gic-grOwer-420, She’s still too small for topping in my opinion. I’ve seen people who will do it at that point, but not me.
This pic was taken on Sep 15th, the day I topped this ManBearAlienPig by Mephisto Genetics. This is the size I like them to be for topping.
And this is her last night.
The other pic of the bigger plant i posted last night is a Froot by the Foot auto by Atlas Seeds. I usually only grow ILGM and Mephisto autos, but I tried Atlas Seeds based on a recommendation from another customer at my local grow store, and so far I’m very impressed.
It sure is amazing what topping does! That’s awesome!! So do yu use teas as well? @Cap_Ron actually what set up do yu have? She looks amazing!
@Bracketh so is that when yu recommend!? I’m 2 weeks in tomorrow! So next Friday will mark week 3! I’m also using FFOF tho! Didn’t plan on using nutes in tea till maybe week 5-6! I was think week 4-5 but they should have enough nutes left from FFOF!
@Strat3gic-grOwer-420, no, I don’t do teas. I use Advanced Nutrients products.
A few years ago I did a side by side grow with one of each strain grown organically, and one of each strain with my normal Advanced Nutrients routine. Through veg, the organic girls kept up fine, and some were actually bigger and growing faster then my AN plants, but once they hit flower my AN girls took off and left the organic plants in their dust. At the end, all of the AN plants produced more than all the organic ones.
I’m just on my 2nd grow and still learning as well, I would hate to steer you in the wrong direction. I’m not using any nutrients other than my teas, aloe extract, bamboo extract, and blackstrap molasses.
Every grow and plant is different. From my understanding, OF has enough nute for 3-4 weeks. So, yeah, if I were you, I would probably start my teas next week. But maybe a more experienced growmie would have better advice.
@Cap_Ron i was goin to do the same thing! A side by side! First soil I have is the purple cow indicanja “living soil supposedly” lol and the FFOF I was goin to use the FF trio with theee synthetic nutes! But then I changes my mind cuz idnt wanna worry about flushing unless I really have to! Lol and organic just sounded better running threw my pipes in my ear! Lol what brand of nutes do yu use?
@Bracketh
I was goin to start tea next week with molasses and worm castings! And maybe a lil shot of fish fertilizer! Then wait till week 5-6 to add nutes to the tea! If anyone more experienced has anymore suggestions feel free to speak up! And feel free to tag whoever! The more advice the better! And I have open ears!
I know @ChittyChittyBangin and @Docnraq use Teas. I can’t think of anyone else right off the top of my head.
I kept mine simple and just used Nature’s living soil mix’s
Worm castings, molasses, and fish fertilizer are all nutrient sources. Molasses not as much as others but still nutritious. In veg you wont need to tea as often but in flower I would go once a week or once every 2 weeks. You need something like bird poo or Bat Guano when flowering.
Worm castings are good but might consider adding some adtl microbes. Grab some recharge or fish sh!t to add to your tea.
If you havent put together a tea brewer of some kind, like a lifter for example, you should.
Yea @ChittyChittyBangin gave good advice yesterday! I’m sure he will be back with more! @Bracketh i appreciate everyone to the max honestly! It feels good to have a grow team willing to help a new grower! @Cap_Ron !
@Strat3gic-grOwer-420, as far as organic vs salt based nutrients, it’s basically a personal preference. Either method will yield great results if you do it properly, and both can also suck if you get it wrong, lol.
My personal preference is salt based nutrients, but if you go that route I’d definitely suggest NOT using the Fox Farm trio. Any brand of nutrients that requires you to flush out residual excess left behind every few weeks isn’t something I’d want to use.
With Advanced Nutrients products, there’s no need to flush, and the pH perfect technology makes things much easier. I’ve tried a few brands over the years, but none that produced the results that Advanced Nutrients does.
There are tons of growers here who use Jacks and are very happy with it. I’ve never used it personally, but I’ve seen plenty of experienced and trusted folks here who swear by it. So if you choose to go salt based, my suggestion would be to use either Advanced Nutrients or Jacks. If you choose to stay organic, I’d stick with Gaia Green.
@Docnraq could yu explain more about a lift what exactly is that!? And I have Gaia green 4-4-4 and 2-84 bloom for nutes! So o should just do molasses and worm castings till flower? Then start nutes?
This should help some with the lifter.
This will depend alot on your starting soil makeup and how long you veg 8f she is a photo you will need to top off the soil after a few weeks with more nutes. And yeah wormcastings and molasses will work. Add Recharge and thank me later
To clarify, the first video isnt me, the last 2 are.
@Cap_Ron sounds good brother! I think imma stick with Gaia green for now as this is literally my first grow! Im going to try ur advanced nutes my next run! And imma do a side by side with Gaia green to see the difference and also learn more!
Does anyone of yu guys have grow journals besides CCB? And I’m late! @Docnraq appreciate the share bro!!
Tag me anytime, and you are most welcome.
This is a link to my current journal.
@Docnraq ive been hearing recharge a lot lately! I’m about to order a bag now off Amazon! Any recommendations on the amount to add? And I’m assuming yu just add to tea?
