Why Common sense is important. If you don’t have any, find some.

I am learning coco. Based on the pics above, you all can determine if I am figuring it out. But when I ask a question (Google) and get completely conflicting answers or even answers that are ambiguous, that’s when the tried and true common sense comes into play at least in my world.

Question was why use microbes in coco with frequent fertigation and daily run off. I am sure you all can guess the types of answers I got as well as “who” was answering the question.

Common Sense answer - No, not the best idea since coco is inert, unless you introduce something for the microbial life to munch on and then couple that with high watering and 15-20% run off every day to rinse the salts if using salt based fertilizers like I am, then it is pointless as you are just rinsing it all away daily. Save your money on this item if in Coco coir.

Wifey has veto’d the first naming convention. She has decided on the name and I like it. Odin’s Light will be the name if I get the cross going. From above, I am hopefully crossing a Northern Lights (Da Poppa) with Godfather OG. (Da Momma)

She is drinking me out of house and home. No less than a gallon everyday and yesterday she took 2 gallons with minimal runoff.
May need to do a cost analysis…
Coco is cheaper than soil, Coco $11.00 pr 2 cu ft, Soil $18.00 so saving money there.
Nutes - when in soil and because I transplanted 4 times, I did not need nutes until flower, Now…I feed her everytime I water every day so I am burning through my nutes like crazy. $35.00 for the trio and another $25.00 for the B-52.
And the water. In soil would use a gallon every 5 days or so, no more than $10.00 a month. I got 5 gallon yesterday and used almost half and going back today to get another 5 gallons. $2.00 per 5 gal each time so that is adding up quick. Might need to invest up front and get an RO buddy or something.

I do not know why I never tried coco before now. Still struggling with the cost offset from soil but I am going to invest in an RO system so I am not spending $40.00 a month on water. Or maybe I will try a run with just filtered tap water.

Should start seeing hedgehogs in a few days.

My NL#5. Still alive and hopefully getting ready to pop so I can snatch his mojo. Crazy this one is still going after all the issues and pulling it from the tent as the last remaining survivor. Dropped on 1/1/25 for the grow off.

had to do a defol. She was too bushy and moisture was beginning to appear where large fans were layered on top of each other. I wanted to wait until after the stretch so she was not repairing while stretching. Opened up the middle for more airflow and will feed tonight. Lights off at 4 am so was not able to get a pic this morning, I am sure she has already turned up all the mains I laid down.
