Blueberry 420 mainlined. Beginner grower

I would have to agree with the others. A quantum board kit is super easy to put together and absolutely awesome performance. Lots of kits to choose from, I can help you with that. As far as step by step directions, funny you say that. How’s this?

Which kit would be the most effective and easiest to make? Lol

They’re all about the same to build based on number of boards. How large do you expect your space to be? I would recommend different kits based on desired flowering space footprint. A single 135 kit good for up to 2x2. To go to 3x3 something like the xw 260 kit would be ideal. For like a 2x4 the xl 260 kit.

There’s others, but just to give you example.

I really have no idea of the dimensions I’m just using an open closet in my spare room. Eventually I’d like to use the whole room after I’ve got a couple successful grows under my belt. Maybe you can make a recommendation based on this picture

Perhaps the xw 260 kit? It’s relatively square light and has effective footprint of about the same shape, about 3’x3’ for flowering. Based on how it appears would be pretty easy to get something similar and run 2 lights later if you expand to using the whole space.

I was looking at one of your threads and see you mentioned purchasing the qb from growers lights, was it already prepared for you and sold like that? Can I buy one? Haha

Which spectrum & quantum board do you suggest? I have no idea what the different numbers mean but I’m assuming I want the general use and flowering one?

To be honest, I bought what I was told would be best for my 2’×2’ tent. Mine is the 135 watt, 3000k QB. I bought mine assembled for $220, but you can save $25 if you buy the kit and assemble it yourself. If you’re interested, then @dbrn32 is the person to talk to. I’m sure he’d be happy to help you with the right light for your space.

And it’s working good for you for all stages? How is the temp in your tent with it?

I’ve only just started using it this grow, so I haven’t flowered yet, but so far it’s giving me excellent node spacing which I had a problem with my old blurple LED.

The temperature is comparable to my old LED, maybe runs a little bit hotter, but not significantly. I’d say it raises the temp by 5° in the tent.

What I like best about the QB is how thin it is. I gained 4" in height.

And it has better output than the LEDs? I think that was my biggest issue with my first grow from what everyone’s telling me. I just want some dense buds :weary:

I will keep following your thread to see how flowering goes for you!

That’s the same reason I switched to the QB - bigger, denser buds. So far, I love it.

It does have more output than the LED, it’s incredibly bright.

The quantum board is an led light, it just uses better leds than the cheaper fixtures. The one that you linked would be ok, but I would look at the one with the square heatsink. It’s called the xw kit. The version 2 boards just a little higher efficacy so if you can get them great!

Update! I was super impatient and kept topping when the first nodes grew out a bit. She has 8 nodes now and they’re starting to face up towards the light now. Hoping she grows out a little better I accidentally had the soft gardening wire in the wrong place for a bit. Any suggestions welcome!

I did have the flash on in that pic but the leaves do look a little light to me. Should I be feeding more than 2x a week?

Depends on the nutrients your using and the soil/Coco
I use fox farm.
Ffof soil and the trio.
In veg I haven’t fed none until this past grow with gold leaf. She’s been veggin longer than usual waiting on my sour diesel to finish flowering.
I noticed last night she was pale so I hit her with a shot of bb,gb.
I usually just transplant from solo cup to one gal to final pot and with the ffof it feeds up till I switch to flower.
To shorten the answer follow manufacturer schedule but if not in Coco then I wouldn’t think you’d need to feed more than that

I am using the FFOF soil & their trio as well  I didn’t add any nutes in my last plant during veg either because I know new soil is good for 3-4 weeks but since I mainlined this one it was already vegging for 7-8 weeks before I got the desired amount of nodes & I figured I should start feeding her, so I’ve been following the fox farm feeding schedule twice a week with about half a gallon. Is that sufficient water for a 5gal fabric pot? Also wondering if maybe it’s the 8 colas making it need more food
