Blue Dream mystery stem

I have a bit of a mystery on my hands. I began some LST in my veg tent. I have 4 clones, 2 ILGM blue dreams, and 2 Aethers from Brother Mendel. All have been in dirt for about 3 weeks, and all look beautiful. However, when I went to bend one of the Blue Dreams, I noticed the stem felt weird. Upon inspection, I observed that the stem is flat. And I mean flat… like it was compressed and flattened between 2 boards. It is over a 1/4 wide, by no more than 1/8 thick. It begins 4 inches above soil ( stem is round till this point) and continues all the way to the top nodes. I’m posting some pictures, but it’s hard to see in the picts. She looks healthy, but I’ve never seen anything like it. Just wondering what could cause it. @Hellraiser , @BobbyDigital , @Newt , @Bulldognuts, @MattyBear

Yes, same thing happened to an AK47 I grew a few years ago. It’s called a polyploid and it’s a genetic mutation. You’ll get a cool looking bud in flower :call_me_hand:t3:

I’m guessing it’s just a thing. I’d just let her grow.

Yeah I kept the top bud in a small jar by itself just to show friends for about a year before smoking it, smoked fine - was a nice Sour Diesel. I’ve only had one of those in 30+ years so pretty rare for me.

Here it is next to a normal cola (with a little fox-tailing) from the same plant
