Dude you totally are gonna love them. I’m so sorry to hear you got another hermie, I know this isn’t the first . I’m sure it’s super frustrating. One question, have the hermies been clones every time? Or have a some of them been seeds ?
Mostly all of my runs are seeds only but a few runs ive had like 1-2 clones per run. Try to stay to seeds for the most part. Im thinking this go around it really boils down to the mold on the inner branch or the inconsistencies of the lighting intensity. Ive noticed there arent any big seeds all very small so it must of happened within the past 2-3 weeks would be my guess and thats consistent with the lighting intensity issue. The molded inner branch started around week 1-2 of flower so im not sure. Left scratching my head as per usual but this stuff smelled amazing regardless so im not too heartbroken but i do want to get to the bottom of everything and solve this issue for once and all
So @matty777 im sure most of my questions will be answered once i have the unit in hand but do they give you extra piping, tees, or junctions for running the line? Also how does the system automate? I noticed it said no electricity required so do you just turn a valve and wait 5 mins? Ill try to do some more research before you get back to me so i dont have a million questions but those are the big 2 right now
No worries brother I’m actually excited to answer some questions for you for a change . . It doesn’t come with extra tubing so I would suggest buying some 3/8 tubing off Amazon . I bought an extra 50ft for 15$ so I could change them whenever they get too dirty. As far as the electricity goes, it uses no electricity Donely thing as you need to elevate the reservoir up at least 6 inches above the rest of your plants what I did was I brought a cinderblock home from work and put the reservoir on top of that, and that keeps the flow going, the only power item that I needed was a pump for the reservoir to keep things mixed up. I use 110 gallon per hour pump that I got off Amazon.
Oh, and before I forget, get some extra valves cause it doesn’t come with Ali and the ones that come with socks so I ended up using other ones that I can order. I’ll send you pictures of everything that I ordered from Amazon because I’m happy with everything that I got…
This is everything I got besides the auto pot package and I have everything I need. Don’t forget to get some hydro gaurd.
Thanks man! Ill have to add that to my list of stuff to get. Just those 3 amazon things right nothing from the autopot website? I think i still have some hydroguard leftover from my last attempt at hydro no telling if its expired or not lol
Also how much piping does the geopot setup come with? Wondering if i can setup both tanks close to each other and then move my bluelab guardian probe to the tank before watering but curious if ill be restricted to a certain footage of predetermined cut length for setups
Dude honestly it really doesn’t come with any extra tubing . It didnt even come with enough for me to put in my 5x5. I would def get extra tube . Order it now. Unfortunately the autopots don’t come with anything extra . That’s my only complaint with them, haha.
I think it comes with 15 ft of tubing and you cut it at the length you need to spread everything . The set up is really easy. I’m excited for ya bud !
Sounds like a little weekday project im down! I’ll have to look more into it after work and find the tubing size so i can have some spare sitting to the side. What did you use as means of cutting? I was thinking about getting a fancy pvc cutter because i help my sister do hvac and furnace installs on some of my days off
Oh you don’t need that just scissors. It’s just tubing like they use for irrigation lines. It’s 3/8”
Ahh ok that makes sense then. I was thinking like bigger pvc. I currently have drip clean and possibly have hydroguard i think they both do the same thing?
You’ll also need to get some perlite or hydroton balls to put 1-2” on the bottom of the geo pots .
Alright easy enough. Do you use the bags they provide? I would like to use my rain science bags if i can. I have quite a few 5 gal pots but if need be ill use whats provided. Im gonna go with the hydroton for the bottom layer as it has a higher reusability than the perilite. How much would i need for 8 geopot setups in 5 gal containers? I say 8 because i plan to get another autopot setup sometime in may for the flower tent
I already knew that was coming , I knew you’d end up wanting another one for the flower tent , haha! I’m buying my 2nd one in a couple weeks. I think the rain science bags will work, they come with 4 geopots. If the size is similiar I don’t see why not. If it does work I will def be ordering some so let me know!
Lol yeah i love automation. We’ve tried drip irrigation before and that failrd miserably flooding my tent with 5 gallons of water and super over watering my ladies. I think ill get a 4lb bag of hydroton. Not sure if 2 will cut it for 8 pots at 1-2 inches. Going to start searching tomorrow for something to prop the 13 gal res up and worst case scenario just buy 3-4 cement blocks per res so they have a nice platform with no overhang
So ive been digging into autopots further and im curious on everyones thoughts on switching from barbed lines to push connect. It was a bit tricky finding the 4 way 3/8 cross with push fittings but i found a wesbite called freshwatersystemsDOTcom and they had 2 to pick from one made by john guest in the UK ($5.62) and another made by DMfit in korea. I was just gonna get a 10 pack instead of buying 4 separately so i had spares if need be and this would make line replacement or cleaning much easier. Also im wondering what the point is of the top and bottom silicone floats and what do you use the top hat grommet for? If im planning for one 4 pot geopot autopot setup per tent would it be better to get a bigger res for the flower tent? Currently have a 13 gallon setup 4 pot geopot autopot XL 5 gal pots waiting to arrive .@matty777 @Pinboy @beardless @registereduser @Capt.Cola @CygnusX1 Currently i have these items in my Amazon cart ( extra 3/8 line, quick connect 3/8 tees and cross, top hat grommets, 4 lbs expanded clay pebbles, and 2 submersible pumps). I have multiple wave makers or circulator pumps but thinking 2 per 13 gal res would work or is that overkill with the submersible pump? Do you only need 1 aquavalve per 4 pot setup? Is there any benefits to having more than one? Am i forgetting anything yall might have found handy or just going overkill and trying to get too much?
I’m thinking 2 would be way overkill. I use one 210 gph pump in my res and that keeps everything mixed up plenty. I think that should be everything. You only need one valve but the one they provide is pretty shotty so that’s why I bought the one on Amazon which is way better quality.
I was talking about 2 circulator pumps not submersible pumps lol. 2 circulators and 1 submersible per setup still overkill? And yeah i noticed i was going a bit overboard just looking for shit bored at work lmao. Had to check with yall make sure im not going crazy and killing my wallet at the same time. I still want to get the push connects for how easy it is to assemble as opposed to the barbed connections and lets not forget disassemble. For reusability and maintaining cleanliness i think the push connects are the way to go. I dont think ill need the 4 way cross but i was just planning ahead so i had my list ready to check stuff off when it comes in and figure out what i really need vs what i think i need
