Hello everyone…. I kinda brought up this question last week since my sour diesel/auto flowering plants are now 13 weeks old, I understand that not all auto flowering plants are done at an exact predetermined time. With that said I’ve heard differences of opinion when it comes to exactly knowing when you should harvest. What I’ve heard is that the trichomes will tell you, but the color of them is where I’ve heard differences of opinion. I’m guessing different colors might depend on what strain you are growing. I’ve heard/read that the trichomes will go from a almost crystal clear to a milky/cloudy white and then I’ve heard/read they will turn amber-ish to a darker amber. I’m just trying to get it right and I’m hoping that @Field ofdreams and myself just have plants that just wanna be around a little longer than most. Which I’m totally happy with, letting those buds get bigger

You want nearly all the pistils/hairs to turn brown and recede back into the calyx’s/flowers then start checking trichomes for cloudy to amber. Check on the buds not the sugar leaves. I like about 20-30% amber with no clear tricomes. Clear trichomes will give you a racey anxious and maybe even paranoid type of high and headaches. Too much amber will give you couch lock and munchies. A tiny bit of clear, a lot of cloudy and some amber is the sweet spot for most.
Agreed. Once you see pistils start receding look at trichs. You want very little clear, mostly cloudy with oldest turning amber on buds for ideal harvest time.

I think this video explains it about as clearly as as I’ve seen. It is geared more toward more THC levels in relation to harvest timing.
@Striven4 finally whacked the last of my girls and hung her up. Took a lot longer than I’d anticipated. Your trich pics still look very clear to me so hang on longer I think.
