Hey can anyone tell how to keep my rain water Ph balance and the best nutrients for flowering, I prefer no mixing. Not new but learning, want to spend my time the right. Thanks
I always just pH whatever water I’m using after mixing nutrients in. I use General Hydroponics pH up and down. If you don’t want to mix nutes I guess that limits you to dry amendments. That’s way outside my lane. Many of us on here use Jack’s 321 all the way through the grow. For price and ease of use it can’t be beat. You can have a successful grow with the same blend start to finish. However a lot of us tweak the recipe at different stages and use PK boosters.
GH liquid Koolbloom and Advanced Nutrients Big Bud are a couple of very popular PK boosters for flowering. I’ve seen a lot of growers use Flower Fuel as well. I could probably give you a much better answer if I knew what nutrients you’ve been using so far.
Top dress with fox farm fruit and flower 4-9-3 once a month.
Many new growers start off with fox farms trio. Its a very good brand but pricey and youll definetly be mixing nutrients no matter what brand you decide on unless you plan to go with supersoil or are top dressing like
@Dexterado mentioned.
Also rainwater should always have a 7.0 ph atleast in my experience. And any nutrient line based off tapwater should pH itself in the mixing process as standard tapwater is also a 7 pH and the nutrients are formulated around that.
Hey Dude thanks for response, I have a great soil mix with perlite and Coco coir all Organic. I see a lot of people water from the bottom, what do you think about that?

Hey Brother thanks for reply. I haven’t used anything in my soil. Growing outdoors auto in containers ( bags) I have organic soil mix with 20% perlite and 20% Coco coir. I just started seeds. Didn’t like the nutrients I use last year, looking for something new. I don’t mind mixing and want a little advice, want my stuff to be the best it can be. That’s what we all want I think
Thanks Dean
No one can because you can’t ph rainwater it takes on the ph of the soil. It’s neutral. Mix nutes and feed don’t ph up or down
Any cannabis friendly line of nutrients will work just fine for your grow. In coco remember to feed to 10-20% runoff every day. My recommendation is Jack’s 321. I used it and MKP last grow and got excellent yield. I’ve had success with General Hydroponics Flora trio as well. Advanced Nutrients, GH, Fox Farms and Jack’s are commonly used nutes that come to mind. There are a ton of other ones though. Liquid nutes cost more and there are a dozen different add-ons for each of them. Jacks and a PK booster will be hard to beat for results and price.
Hey Brother
Thanks for your reply. In my area there’s not a lot of boosters to choose from. I used a organic soil for outside, nothing in it but soil and perlite. My plants just came up , It’s time to feed right. Feed with a 4.4.4. Top granular like Dr. earth Gold its 4.4.4 or Dr. earth has a 4.6.3 Natural fertilizer. i can also get Dr. earths liquid fertilizer. so what do you think . I am going to post this in open forum in case you don’t check today
Hey I really appreciate the help I know everyone is busy Thanks Dude12
I been using foxfarm trio along with calmag just too much mixing this and that, then tried sohum professional soil water only got 2oz off a plant which isn’t real bad going back to foxfarm soil just cheaper and easier to get going to use gaia green 4-4-4 multipurpose and 2-8-4 power bloom dry nutes top dress every 3 weeks
Thanks for the info. And appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions. Do you think since you used different products not all granular fertilizer listed 4.4.4 act the same or get the same results. Like everything else quality matters.

Dude the easiest food I found is Jacks 321, I mix in a gl jug and follow the directions. I watered full strength since the second leaves came out and I’m very impressed. I’ve got a grow journal if you want to follow.
Either of those would work for veg. We dial stuff in for indoor grows it seems, but I’ve grown outdoors with nothing but water and some 10-10-10 i found in an old barn. Ideally you’ll want more P and K and less N whenever flowering starts. Can you not order nutes online? Not flat out asking where you are, but no matter where you are online ordering is your best friend. Closest hydro shop here is 50 miles away and about 2x the price on everything.
First, Thank you for the help .
I could order online but I decided a long time ago to keep my finances off the internet as much as possible. With changes to society, people and all the scammers on internet I have trust issues. Seems theirs not a lot of us left with morals or integrity. I do thank you for your time. If I used a organic soil and plants just came up should be time to feed. I mostly look at the plants health, look good so nothing to drastic.

If your soil isn’t pre amended then I’d just give the plants water for a week or 10 days. I put a solo cup over them and water around the cup. That encourages the roots to grow out to reach water. After that week or so then start feeding them.
Growing outdoors would you test the pH with soil tester or pen to test the water I feed with if I use a liquid fertilizer. Think I am going to pickup Superthrive, found it in stock.
Definitely pH your nutes every time. Matter of fact when you’re growing in a container pH everything that goes in.
Thank you for the information, I am growing outside organic soil with 1/3 perlite, thinking about growing hydro but I love being outdoors and growing outdoors, but I stay where it’s not legal but a perfect climate for growing. On east coast half way from top of country or from bottom.
Hey everyone
I want to thank anyone who took there time to respond to my post. I know everyone is busy and most people can’t find the time to help, that’s fine but thanks again to the ones who took the time to reply.
