I use FF nutes, but that’s it. I want a simple grow that pleases me. What else do I need? Thanks!
one of the biggest things I’ve learned is you get out what you put in. I would recommend getting a PH meter, a simple reading to make sure your PH is in check can simplify your grow and save you time.
Thanks…
I would add a TDS meter to that list. It will help in ensuring you are adding the right amount of nutrients.
I know what a PH tester is, but what is a TDS tester. Thanks.
TDS measures total dissolved solids. A decent meter will give you measurements in both ppm and EC. You can get one for less that $20 on Amazon. It measures the strength of your nutrient solution.
This is the TDS meter I use. There are many others to choose from, but I am happy with this one.
I also use the Dr. Lyn pH pen and am happy with that as well.
learning how to use both the ph and TDS meters is a must for a successful grow for sure
Get ph right and your grow will go nice and smooth
Know how much your feeding them is good as well I use the fox farms and found that if you follow the feeding schedule and flush when as per schedule you’ll be fine the only modification I made to schedule was feed once not twice a week as my plants did want more so that’s good lol
It does say to adjust to your plants needs but I mix full strength and feed less if they don’t need as much
I will water about a half gallon and check run off to see how much nute mix to add ?
Just what I do and thought I’d share @EarlyPearl
Happy growing
Depends partly on where you live also. Climate, temp etc. For instance, I live in the desert where it’s hot and dry so a fan to keep them cool is an absolute must. Something to consider.
Great point @HCHGC
I have no less then two fans going inside my tents all the time as well as my exhaust fan and I turn on my intake once I get a full canopy going to ensure airflow and cool air around pots
Air flow is also important to controlling soil nates and mold
I live in a very humid part of the country. To combat the humidity, I use a rechargeable dehumidifier (like the kind you use in a safe). I only do this during flower though to prevent mold and bud rot.
I’m in my basement in the NE which would be 75-80% humidity if I didn’t run a dehumidifier all year round it doesn’t run much in winter but will kick on once in a while anyway @GrowManFitz
How long do you get out of a charge I think I know the ones your talking about can you post a picture maybe ?
Here’s a pic of what I’m using. I just started using it so not sure how long a charge will last me yet.
If you zoom in you can see the high humidity level on my AcuRite monitor. Humidity was 74%… now it stays below 50%.
Thank you all for the info.
Would it be the seeds? Just a wild guess in the wind, but i’m winging it.
Will
No, all is good with the seeds.
I’m sure you were …i was just kidding around…but if you need any other info. i got plenty to offer.
Will
@EarlyPearl @garrigan62 is the man if you need anything I never thought about using one of those out of my safe good call I have a 40 ft.³ safe and mine last about a month before I have to recharge it so depending on your tent size maybe every couple weeks and plug it in for a day but kudos great idea @GrowManFitz
@garrigan62 How did we miss that? Lol. Of course, if you want the best bud, you gotta start with the best seeds… I:heart:️GM !!!
Thanks for the kudos @Hogmaster! We’ll see how well it continues to work. I have a regular dehumidifier as well, but it puts out too much hot air for my 28 ft³ tent. This is nice, if it continues to work, because it doesn’t produce any heat while in use.
