Got the tent up today! Sheesh, that thing is big. Lol. I measured out the space for it before, so I knew what I was in for but it’s still… quite a massive tent!

Should I use a layer of perlite or coco of some sort in between my layers of FFHF & FFOF?
These babies aren’t ready to repot just yet… but I think they will be soon!
No need in my opinion. You are better off getting something for a mulch layer to put on the surface.
Okay, cool. Any suggestions? I have a bunch of bags of cedar chips from my garden that weren’t used last year, but they might be a little sketchy… hmm. They are probably dyed red.
I’ve seen a lot of folks using those clay balls, or what have you.
Gonna be a while, I guess, before I need all that, but definitely want to be prepared. Working on lying out/organizing the components for the lights today and seeing what’s up with all of that.

ive read that cedar chips are bad, a guy on this forum poisoned his whole vegetable garden with them. Wheat or Alfalfa straw is good, or the clay balls.

Would you recommend installing in this AC Infinity fan setup inside, or outside the grow tent? Does it matter? And the controller, would it be better served (and more protected) outside? Humidifier… outside the tent, but near the vents, I’d imagine? I currently have the power strip for (only) the one light/timer that I’m using right now, inside the tent, because the cords aren’t very long, and my tent is up against two corners of the walls. Getting to the back or other side right now is… ahem, difficult. (& It’s really the only place I can fit it right now.) I guess what I’m asking is, I don’t need those things inside, getting wet, yeah?
Trying to ponder, plan, and configure a few things today, and still don’t have a lot of space to work with outside the tent, but it’s getting there. Working my butt off with getting this “lung” room (lol) and the space surrounding it, set up just right. Wait until you see the before/after pix of this room.

About to tidy up the tent space, and get to unboxing and checking this thing out. Yayyyyyyy! I’ll finally get to see what the temperature and humidity is like in there.
Today on my list:
- Fan & controller setup
- Humidifier
- Ph meter calibration, etc.
- Figuring out the extention cords for the other two lights, if I need to do that. (If I do need to split them up, which I’m thinking I might, I guess that means a seperate timer, too.)
I’m going to plan on sticking to this thread from here on out, I guess… (since I had four threads going) and having all of my questions in this one place for my first grow, for now. Will update the plants/nutrients list, etc. in here, since I have more things going now.

Yeah I’m psyched about the new fan… I’ve heard good things. This thing looks like a beast. This is all honestly pretty new to me. I’m going a lot by… feel. Lol.

I never started a journal. I will be for the gg autos I’m starting tomorrow. And the minds around here are something else! I found this forum after I ordered their seeds and have used it nearly every day since.
