Beginning week 7 Bud Yield

First Grow. Pictures are of Godfather OG and Purple Kush. Beginning of Week 7 of flowering. Will the Buds still fill in or just about done with yield size? Thanks everyone.

They’ll still put on some weight for another week or 2 :love_you_gesture:

Thank you very much for info. I learned a lot from the first grow. Already looking forward to second grow. Clones are waiting, Plus Gold Leaf and Girl Scout Cookie extreme.

All great strains and congrats on the clones. Depending on the harvest time you could have a few weeks to fatten those up. :love_you_gesture:

I could be wrong but these calxy in red look extremely large compared to the others and the one appears to have a visible seed. Am i mistaken or is there possibly some nanners hidden somewhere
I zoomed on and didn’t see any but if that is seeds, there’s pollen from somewhere.

Good eye @1HappyPappy . Curious myself about that.

You are correct! My son got two clones from someone else and brought them home. We were excited about our first grow and over looked monitoring male and female. Big mistake on our first grow. Lesson learned. But it is a mistake that will not happen again. Clones we have are in closet and we plan on cleaning the grow space and changing the Mylar out when we harvest. Is there anything we else we need to do cleaning for our second grow? To ensure we have all females? Thank you!

It’s true pollen can stick around and cleaning is always a good idea.
But i wouldn’t stress over it to much, we all get some random seeds now and then from some rogue pollen

Good chance them seeds will grow if they are not white when you harvest them.
Let them dry out justvlike you will the bud and plant them if ya want to, free seeds  obviously watch them for males and hermaphrodites…

Nice plants :farmer:

Agreed. :+1:

If it was full on male plant that got her in that condition you have about 50/50 chance of male or female plants from the seeds and will be a new cross.

Nice run for a first time!

Ok, here’s the deal, VERY few strains finish (properly) in the time quoted. So an 8 week strain will almost (not always) always be better at 9 or 10 weeks. They just are. If done right, your plant should look like death warmed over at harvest time, leaves will curl, turn yellow, fall off, as the plants depletes nitrogen stores, and buds fatten and sweeten. You’re looking for that “ripe banana” smell and taste in your buds.

Soma, of the famous Soma Seeds, used to be all over this, saying he saw so much pot rejected at market as they were harvested too soon. Good luck! Looks like a nice harvest.

My rule of thumb is when I think they’re ready, I’ll wait another week. Your plants look like they’ve got a few weeks left to harvest.

If you’ve got ‘nanners , just means the plants hermied a bit, and you may have a few seeds. No big deal. It happens. Just means the strain, or more often, THAT version of the strain isn’t stable. It will harvest and smoke just fine.

Wow!! Did not know that. I was wondering how new strains were produced. Great info, with a positive twist to the whole mistake…

Thank you for the information. I was just about to ask the question you answered. The effect it would have on the smoke in the end. Somewhere I had heard that if they had seeds that it would also produce a headache after smoking. Your information is very valuable…

Lol. Boy, if that were the case, I’d have had a headache from 1971-2005!

Made me laugh, as I’ve been stressing over mold issues, which I’ve never had, and got to thinking, EVERYTHING we ever smoked had mold and goodness knows what else in it. It was ALL bricked Mexican, Jamaican, or Thai. Some occasional Vietnamese, if you knew some military. Colombian didn’t arrive much until about ‘74 or ‘75. And every bag was full of stems and hundreds of seeds. Wish I had some of those seeds today! Everything was 100% sativa, too. REAL Acapulco Gold was some of the best weed to this day. Barneys Farm actually did a pretty good job duplicating the original high in their version, which is what ILGM and everyone else has pirated.

Btw, I don’t believe I’ve ever had a feminized plant hermie on me. But lots of regular seeds have, which is all I used to grow. Most were just a few seeds here and there, but a few were full on hermits. Those were the ones you had to watch or they’d seed your whole room quick.

Wow!! You have triggered so many memories. And the thought of having seeds from the good old days… You made my day… thanks a lot for the input, it took out mostly any questions I could have asked. Really is no telling what was in the buds we smoked in our younger days. Have a great week.

Huge difference in the bud we grow now and the 70s.
Check out the best there was in 1977

Yep
This article is all i can think of when i see folks talking about how good the weed was in the 70s.

Looks like trash to me, and thc levels back then was most often 10% or less, if you had something 15% all the way through the 80s, then you had some fire!
Nowadays 15% is kinda the benchmark for “ok” weed
