Been oxygenating water for a couple days and pH to 6.3 in that sweet spot . This time I’m doing things a little bit different . I’m putting 3 cups of water instead of watering untill I start seeing run off . Leave it a little less dry for more wet dry cycles . Well 3 cups for the 8 in the 2 gallon mesh and about 2 for rest in the 1 gallon .
And there we go. All watered and any yellow bottom leaves got the hiyaaa chop suey . A few are ready for a topping but I’m just going to wait till next watering . Do a little chopity chop chop decapitation and raise power of light about 5 more percent or so .
Even got all the outside veggies watered . Humidifiers cleaned but here is the only issue I got . Even being careful cleaning the humidifiers they take awhile to start working again . It’s kinda a scary moment . Each time I think they are breaking down on me . But I got 2 and thinking of getting a cheap one off of marketplace as a backup . Otherwise all is well and let’s rock out .
You know I didn’t have near the problem with my first grow as I am this time with that . I could go a good couple few weeks and not have that issue . But this grow im seeing it start to turn green before a week . And it’s both of them. I thought it was because I’m actually using a warm mist on one of them but they both are getting it . Then I thought maybe it’s the fans somehow getting plant material in them but I cleaned them anyway just to make sure .
When I see it turning green for a couple days is when I’ll take em to sink . I spray everything down with alcohol then use Meyers soap , rinse and put them back together . I don’t know why it’s such a problem this grow but waantthe first grow?
But here’s the problem . These are the best and only humidifiers good enough to actually change the rh in a 5x5 tent without spending 400+ dollars on a commercial grade one . If you go through my other journal you see that it took me buying and returning 4 different humidifiers before finding these 2 that finally worked . I had the same exact problem with dehumidifiers. It took me buying and returning 3 before finally finding and settling with a rotary descinant style dehumidifier that actually worked with a 6x5. They either didn’t do anything or they was to big for the area and the compressor kept running for minutes after reaching set/desired rh bringing the humidity dangerously low in the 20-39s or up in the 80s when iit should of shit off at the 49s or 50 rh point .
I know it’s different for those with a smaller tents like 4x4 and smaller these humidifiers actually work m but they don’t for the 5x5 . I was pulling my hair out the first grow because if that . These levoit 300s and 609 are the only ones I could find that actually worked .
Yeah I’ve been keeping my eyes open and asking about the ideal air commercial grade one but that’s 374.00 before tax at the cheapest place . I’m on Facebook marketplace multiple times a day looking for someone selling a commercial one . I found one just last night that was perfect and for only 200 bucks but that was 7 hour and ,49 minutes drive . At that point I might as well spend the 400 on it new . Here it is. The horticat u80 humidifier . Would be perfect . Has day and night setting and hooks directly to a water line . That would be powerful enough to change my humidity . I bought supposive strong and good humidifier that after an hour still wouldn’t get my humidity up past the 29 percent mark . So I have to go commercial. But 400 is allot of money right now
So if I spray paint the tanks black the algae will stop growing ? I don’t understand why I didn’t have this issue on the first grow but I do this time though . Any possible ideals on why that may be?
I would just spray paint the outside of the humidifier tank black, then white. You won’t be able to see the water level which is a drag, but it should help keep the algae away.
Exact same everything . Only difference is last time was in a larger studio apartment space . I moved to a 4 bedroom and it’s in about a 10x12 room this time .
I’m going to have to get a commercial size one anyway . I’m hoping to have the 7x12 room ready by time this grow is done .
I’m betting a smaller space is allowing the humidifiers to have more direct light than before. If that’s the only thing that changed, it would make some sense.
What I meant by that is the tent is I’m a smaller room area but it’s still the same 5x5 tent . Yeah it’s weird . Actually last time I don’t remember any green at all . I could go a month without cleaning . Oh well not a biggie . Gals are looking healthy . Just need to clean once a week . Give or take a couple days which it’s suggested to clean them once a week anyway . So I guess is what it is .
Ok turned light up to 45 percent and reading approximately 390-440 ish ppfd for 18 hours on is between 25-26 dli . Most of these are going into their second week of veg and others about the first . CO2 is set for 650 ppm with a 50 ppm deadband . Going to wait another 4-5 days then jump dli to about 35 and see how the smaller plants handle it.
Question to all . This is the only black sugar that germinated out of one of the 5 packs I got . Also really seemed to grow slow and behind all the others but I just took a closer look at it and realized why . I haven’t did anything to it, no training at all . Just planted it . It doesn’t have one stock , it’s got 2 and growing outwards on its own . How often does this happen ?
Just watered gals for second time in their next to last home . They have such a more healthier green ,stock, node space, and just overall quality than first grow.
Just bumped up light to 55 percent running between 500-550 ppfd , still about 600 ppm CO2 and dli is about 35.
Also got more and more beans . Here is what I have now .
5 blueberry pancake,5 blueberry cupcake, 5 blueberry muffin hombolt .
Also hombolt phenohunter 15 blueberry x mac1 10 girls out cookies x mango sherbet and 2 all gas x gelato also all hombolt phenohunter .
2 slurriking, all have veen photoperiod.
Then 2 purple lemon auto.
4 blue dream semi photo , cheetah fat semi photo , 2 papa Smurf semi photo , and 2 critical 2.0 auto .
Wait there’s more . 2 gelato #1 photo , 7 more purple ghost candy , 5 more black sugar , 3 white widow , and 3 og kush . I think I’ll be busy for a little while

The freakshow should fit in there quite well to. It looks like a fern plant but built like a tree .
