Been reading for days!

Every time I think I’ve found an answer to a question I come across a completely different answer. Going to get a tent set up sooner then later.
How much light is enough for a 27”x27”tent?
What brand is best overall?
What brand is most cost effective?
Is the light in this package sufficient for sprout to harvest?
What other packages should I look at.

I’ll recommend an HLG light myself. Are you looking at a 3x3 tent? The dimensions you stated seems a little off. A 3x3 could fit a 350r and it would rock that tent. I know @SilvaBack203 is using the Blackbird in his 3x3 and crushing it!

They tick all your boxes. Cost effective, one of the best on the market. You’ll never need another light. It’ll get you from see to harvest easily

I have a 2.5x2.5 and a 3x3… if you want a tent that size i would def get acinfinity s33 thats what I currently have going in my 2.5x2.5

Before i had that light in that tent i was using a hlg diablo 200 both light can def veg and flower that set up. The s33 is for a 3x3 and i think the specs are off the wall.

I have a 3x3 spiderfarmer tent with a spider farmer se3000 “up graded version” It’s a 300watt light.
The marshydro ts1000 is only good fir 1 plant but it will take it seed to harvest…

horticultural lighting group “HLG” is the crowd favorite for lighting but marshydro and spiderfarmer make good budget lights.
Some of there models are extremely good, with efficiency and par maps as good or better then hlg.
Marshydros sp3000 is best efficiency and par map in a 2x4 space in its class above all others.
And hlg only makes quantum boards where “bar style” fixtures are the new thing.

Growers Choice makes great lights as well.
I have a Roi-e720 that is amazing.

Lots of crap lights out there but you do not have to spend a fortune to get a good one.

Tents are a different story.
If you will plan to grow auto flowers then any cheap tent will do including a cardboard box painted flat white on the inside .
It just a question of how many holes and ports does it have and doors or windows just for options :man_shrugging:

If you will plan to grow photo periods then i would suggest getting an expensive tent maybe so that it’s made very well and totally light proof…

@mangold0318 , if you would like to upgrade your coverage with that package you have presented I’d suggest upgrading your light to the FCE3000. I have FCE3000s and FCE4800s and love them in my spaces. Great coverage for their prices.

Buy a wattage meter and you can over clock the wattage in the driver. You can do this due the the amount of diodes in the light set. Just remember, do not set wattage above 2-5% of the +/- percentage stated in the manufactures actual wattage specs. This means a 300w light can be taken to 330w (10%) at most before diodes begin to lose there expected lifespan.

Do upgrade at some point to an AC infinity exhaust system and oscillating fan. Well worth the money.

It’s a great light, but won’t necessarily fit into every 3x3. Several 3x3 are short of 36"x36", and negative pressure pulling tent walls in can cause them to tear tent. I like hlg 300L or qb 260 kit in 3x3. Little cheaper and better fit, and still produces nicely in this size.

Heres a tip get a melon farm 4x4 and get a hlg 260 xl or 300 l rsepec for starters and only use half the tent, you re going to get hooked sooner rather then later and will upgrade anyways so why waste the money. P.s. that 27x27 can only support one medium sized plant and a good 4x4 can support about 4 rather large ones( or if you re a psycho like me 6 autos that may or may not be gigantic)

I currently have 9 in my 4x4 :joy:. I know thats pretty damn crammed. I’ll probably move 3 to my 2x4 once I get it set up lol.

Thanks for all input. I know I’ll have plenty more questions. As a side note my states recreational sales start on 4/21/22 not 4/20 :roll_eyes:Just proof they can’t do shit correctly.

We must be in the same state, I’m shocked we finally got there at ALL. Waiting since 11/20 ffs.

I’m going to toss a more “budget” light recommendation into the ring here. I was put on to a brand called Green Beams. Their lights are top notch, but they only have two types - a 240 and a 480. I have two 240s. They are $200 each, with $17 shipping and arrive in three days. They are built very much like the more expensive brand - 6 foot extension cord so you can put the drivers out of the tent, dials to adjust the light levels, solid heat sinks, good diodes and drivers. They would be able to fit a 27x27 since I have room to spare in my 3x3.

“proof they can’t do shit correctly.“ Impossible, THEY (self serving politicians and bureaucrats) can not. Abundant proof of mans fallen nature!

Thanks for the info neighbor

@mangold0318 , I have a 20”x36”with 2 Atreum 100W. Quantum lights ( great specs). Where, with dumb mistakes, I’ve grown 3 plants for a total of @9+ OZ.of flower… Over 1gram / Watt. The light is the most controlling factor…like global warming…it’s the sun. They should call it the Solar flare tax!

Check out ACInfinity kits as well. They are new to the game, but their products are first rate and they attempt to connect everything to a controller controlled by a phone app. The lights, exhaust and intake fans as well as their new clip on fans all controlled by an app.

@mangold0318 Welcome! Here you’ll have to wade through a sea of opinions in order to create your sea of green lol. There’s a lot of different paths that all work and yours will ultimately be based upon what works for you and your individual situation. Trial and error isn’t failure it’s just speed bumps on your road to self fulfillment, that and a ton of your own bud lol.

I have the 4x2 ac infinity tent.

@SilvaBack203 Sorry for hijacking but I don’t know how to start a private thread - I have an s33 as a new grower, what settings and height would you use for newly vegging auto’s in 3x3? I’m pretty sure 100% is off the charts because I’ve measured DLI/par.

If you wanna start a thread go 2 the main forum page and click on the + sign that says new topic

100% is alot you will gradually increase when in flower. That light is bit strong and gives out good amount of heat i noticed already. I would keep light at 22in top of highest canopy at 20% intensity…

You can tag me any time for questions or concerns or even show ya girls off. I will reply might be a little late but i will
