This year I’m getting back into growing after a long break and knew that I had to watch my early season light cycle.
In my searches I found some who had their plants (photos) go into pre-flower at 14-14.5 hours of daylight so I made sure mine wouldn’t be going out, for good, until May 23 as that’s when we have 15 hours of “daylight.” I was taught to always add a “fudge factor.”
I’m sorry to be such a bother, but I’m really stuck and can’t find a definitive answer. All my regular MJ plants have flipped from vegetation to flower. AZ is nearing 14 hours of sunlight and they’re still flowering. Can this be fixed, if so do you have any recommendations? Thank you
Someone was just asking this on another thread. Was that you? I can look if not. I believe the answer was to let em ride. They should go back into veg…? I’m not sure but I can definitely research that if you need
I received my Runtz clones on like April 22nd i think, they came from indoors at 18hr light a day, the shock from going from 18 down to just under 14 threw mine into flower. I kind of expected it, tried to use a porch light to trigger them into staying awake for a few more hours but it didnt work, too far away lol. Either way they are reverting to veg right now, but its a sloooow process.
I wonder if it would help to trim all the flower off? That way the plant isn’t putting energy into it. Just a thought… I am no expert though so… grain of salt.
I will knock the leftover calyxs off once she has settled into veg a little better. I think doing it during reveg would be too much stress and maybe cause it to hermie? Reveg is already a high stress procedure, id be afraid to tamper with her any further. But I honestly dont know
They will be just fine if they are photo’s…
They will go back to vegging…
These are my oldest daughters plant’s that I gave her , they are outside in AZ…
I was there yesterday to pluck all of their little heads off and super crop them…
They are my own cross of a cali fruity kush x with a male girl scout cookie …
And she planted the seeds in the middle of last month and they are really starting to take off now…
She’s using all organic nutrients and it’s her first time with mj and my guidance , we shall see how she does…
These are reg photos , so hopefully she don’t have any boys in there…
I’ve given out around 200 of these seeds and haven’t had any boys yet…
And no signs of flowering , so I’m pretty sure that these things will be monsters by the time that they are ready to pull if everything goes right…
Hi yuucabud! I just finished my first outdoor grow I did two autos started in mid Feb indoors transplanted outside once our nighttime lows went over 50. I’m in Tempe so our growing season is really short!
When I was researching plant foods to use on one of my plants I found an organic liquid concentrate made by “Urban farms” called “Texas tomato food”. It mixes at 1tbsp/gallon and seemed like the easiest way to feed your “in the ground” plants without having to worry about salt buildup from synthetic nutes.
Thank you all for the replies. I found a couple of articles about super-cropping and revegetation, but the flowering is still continuing. I was hoping to avoid early flowering and didn’t realize I needed to decrease the indoor lighting before transplanting outdoors. I’m glad I started a journal, this is definitely a lesson I don’t want to repeat next year.
I use a 55 gallon drum with a water pump to feed the plants. This allows me to test the PH/PPM, make my adjustments, which ensures all the plants receive the same exact dosages of feed. Today I fed them heavier in nitrogen to hopefully snap them back out of flowering.
I typically have issues getting vegetables to start flowering, since I use such large amounts of chicken manure. Valuable lesson learned.
Ok I guess Ill reply too… In addition to what others have so eloquently stated, some plants like Lebanese are known as semi auto ( early flowering) not full auto. They may bust into flower if the days arent really long.
For instance, the female Leb hasnt started to flower, the Afghans barely even show sex yet and look at this dude plant…
With yours flowering now, and running some regular sex seeds, you need to keep your eye out for males! They will not produce the white pistils you see on the females.
Being my first grow I expected to make some mistakes. I’ve watched hours of videos and have read 1000’s of posts on this site. I’ve been gardening for more than 40 years and I have some knowledge on growing plants. After the transplants the plants gained a good 6" in the first week. This week the plants might have gained 1/2" in height and the flowers are getting fuller. I made a huge mistake and now I’m stuck waiting for them to return to vegetation.
The positives are I’ll never make this mistake again and I found 4 males which also flowered. I’m going to try and grow a couple of plants in the tent and ordered the HLG 600 grow light you recommend.
