AZ Desert Grow Journal

Wow, that is one serious operation!

@YuccaBud I too am amazed that Az decided to move out of the stone ages to the “stoned” ages. :grinning: :grinning: So, yes a couple can grow up to 12 plants - but possess only 1 ounce. Go figure. Is Weed Legal In Arizona? Arizona Marijuana Laws | Weedmaps

Spot on! Since I’ve never grown an MJ tree I assumed 12 plants would equal one ounce. Why would you allow someone to grow a tree where one branch could weigh an ounce? Confusing, but until I actually grow a tree I’m just going to enjoy the ride.

Yes, AZ to the “stoned” ages, LOL! Two ounces per couple, but still, that “problem”, LOL, remains.

@Twelve1, oh that’s right, 2 oz./couple - 12 plants. Hellraiser and several of his lot regularly get over .5 lb per plant!

I believe the 1 Oz rule is if you are out in public the law says you are allowed to carry on you person 1 Oz. I could be wrong but that’s how I interpret it

“Possession” and what that means according to the law. I haven’t dug into particulars and such.

I believe you are right. You can possess pounds and pounds at home, BUT if you go to your buddies house and wanna take some, you can only have up to 1 oz on you.

@DefNSmokn that makes wayyy too much common sense to be correct in Az. :joy:

That does sound logical. I don’t think I would ever drive or possess any amount outside of my house. Honestly, I was freaking out going to the mailbox to get my shipment of seeds. It’s cool that AZ passed the law lifting the restrictions, but mentally I’m still adjusting to the thought that I’m actually growing plants.

Subject change: what do you think of blood meal, bone, crab, kelp, and all the other meals?

I gave my tomatoes their feeding of nutrients (meals) and they responded as normal. I gave one of my MJ plants a couple of teaspoons of blood and bone meal to test the results. The plant responded amazingly!! Fox Farms is good, but I’m thinking it’s a safe feed and I could get better results using the meals, but I figured I would ask before making a big mistake.

@Cannabian @Oldguy @Hoppiefrog should be able to give you great insight on using organic amendments. But yes, various meals, seaweed/kelp extracts and so forth, can be used with cannabis.

Im doing my first run in FF soil right now, i cannot offer proper guidance, Im used to coco indoors with Jacks (Peters) 321 regiment.

I’m all about adding goodies to my soil you just have to research what you are feeding because some of it can be harmful if you give em to much plus plants want different nutrients at different stages of growth. It’s best to make a recipe in the beginning and as the soil comes alive the plants actually communicate with the soil and the soil responds with what the plants ask for. You just have to keep the soil alive and the plants will thrive. Check out buildasoil, clackamascoots, kisorganics, homesteadandchill, these are all great .com spots to learn about recipes n feeding your soil not your plants

Yup I use the kis mix so far so good, be cautious not to overuse or double up on your inputs, a tried and tested mix is the way to go,I would stay away from the modern mix unless you chat w @Budbrother ahead of time ,we had to change it up a lot to make it work

@Hoppiefrog is right on it I will be trying the kisorganics mix soon to compare it with what I am using now, I buy alot of stuff from kis and they have great customer service… I noticed that I didn’t put the stuff I’m using on the list above lol it’s called Earth Dust and I get it from thegreensunshineco and if you are wondering about price trust me you will save a ton of money growing in living soil for one you reuse your soil over and over and the mix probably costs about $5 per plant

I think I found my issue with nutrients and it has nothing to do with feeding the plants. My tomatoes shot up 6" this week and my MJ plants only moved a 1/2 inch. The structure of the plant tips look completely different from when they were in the greenhouse, my plants are flowering! The plants received 13.53 hours of sun today, so I’m lost on how this could have happened. Will they return to vegetation, how badly is this going to impact the overall plant growth?

Did you buy autoflowers?

No, none of these plants are auto flowering. I’ve been searching the internet all day and think (hope) I found the cause. When the plants were in the greenhouse I kept them under an old T5 light. Though the plants are getting more than 12 hours of light, they are getting less than in the greenhouse. The switch in lighting caused them to flower and it also said they will return to vegetation within a week or two. I’m going to hit them with nothing but nitrogen until they return to vegetation.
