Maiden voyage for my Autopot system is underway. As follows:
4x4 tent
Light source is HID 600w starting out, will increase to 1000w on a dimmable digital ballast on a 20/4 cycle.
Four 3.9 gallon pots
Substrate is Canna coco mixed 50/50 with perlite.
Strains are:
Speedrun, Granite Haze 7, Rock Slide and Acid Snow. 420 Fastbuds Gorilla Cookie.
All were started in solo cups and transported to the 3.9 gallon pots.
I’m presently top feeding Canna Part A and Part B, with CalMag mixed at 25%.
Probably will be two more weeks before I turn on the system and the air domes.
So my question is, what bloom booster do I use! I have a lot of dry powders like Bestie Bloomz and Cha Ching. However from past experiences with soil, those will not be soluble enough to run through an Autopot system.
Canna makes several different types, as do a few other companies. Any advice?
I’m not sure about the brand you’re using, just make sure whatever you use is okay for hydroponics. I used Open Sesame, Beastie and ChaChing when I grew in soil but switched to the GH Flora line when I converted to AutoPots. FF has since started making a hydro line so they probably have their boosters available as well. I’ve never checked since they came out with their hydro system tbh
I run Autopots both with the supplied pots/airdomes and 3 gallon fabric pots. Currently I have 3 plants running: Jack’s with silica modified at transition with a P, K boost. Here’s my grow two weeks ago:
You see, here’s where the wheels come off the wagon for me?
I’ve been growing in soil for 10 years. I’ve gotten fairly good at it, and more or less know the ropes.
Either Happy Frog or Ocean Forest soil to which I add myco. I feed General Hydroponics Maxigrow 1/2 strength first couple weeks. Then full strength with added CalMag and silica. At the first sign of flower, I switch to General Hydroponics Maxibloom, supplemented with Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz and Ch Ching accordingly.
But now that I abandoned soil, I jumped into coco and Autopots with both feet. I’m in uncharted waters for me.
My plan is to continue feeding Canna coco Part A and Part B with CalMag right through veg.
However Im not sure how to proceed once I go into flower? I assume I’ll have to continue with Canna Part A and Part B, but looking for something to add to enhance the bloom stage, is bloom boosters.
Canna seems to make several, as does General Hydroponics and Fox Farms.
BTW, I have a lot of Beastie Bloomz and Ch Ching. But being powders, I’m concerned they may not be compatible with Autopots due to the fact they don’t dissolve all that great at times.
I use there boost and pk 13/14 (for one week 13/14) for flower and I use Cannazym it helps the plant consume the dying roots and turn it into food. It’s used the entire grow. The rizotonic is also used in different amounts in veg and flower.
I tried to edit the previous post but it won’t let me. I use the entire Canna Nutrient lineup. In flower you use A &B plus you use Rizotonic less in flower but you still use it. Cannazym it breaks down dieing roots and turn it into food for the plant. Boost is the main ingredient for bloom and the most expensive part. But the most important as well. I use PK-13/14 for one week normally at week 13 or 14 and I use there calmag 5ml per gallon unless they are heavy feeders then I will use 10 ml per gallon. I hope this helps
@AfgVet My Sister I don’t know anyone that uses it but me. There so expensive I can see why ppl steer clear but I absolutely love the results. The Boost is the most expensive and most critical during flower. And I think that’s part of the reason my grows are so frosted. And until I find something better I will continue to use Canna’s entire nutrient line.
I know a guy back home that has been using there nutes for a long time now, and he swears by them for sure. And your grows confirm it for me. They’ve got something figured out lol
