Autopot help with organic soil

Ok so been some time since I’ve posted anything. Got question on using coast of maine stonington organic soil with a autopot 2 - 9 gallon fabric bags setup. Been very happy with with the soil and the coast of maine nutes I’ve been using but im assuming top dressing wouldn’t work as its bottom feeding system so would this soil work with this setup? Thanx for any and all info in advance. Stay lit my friends :clinking_beer_mugs::love_you_gesture::grin:

I use coco in my auto pots but have read of people top dressing organic nutes using just water in the res. I would think top dress and water them in a bit. I looked into it a while ago.

I don’t do hydro yet but I’ve seen where folks have had issues running the AP with organic soil.
Best to treat as hydro and use an inert media.
Coco seems to work the best.
@OGIncognito will be along to clarify. .

COM is. Great soil medium, my only concern with using with auto pots and dry amendments is watering those in from the top. Synthetic fertilizer generally causes issues with bottom feeding and trying to water from the top. I can’t really see an issue with enough top watering to keep the upper few inches damp and letting the bottom wicking feed the middle and lower portion :love_you_gesture:

You just need to moisten the top 3” daily to keep them breaking down. You are providing the morning dew in this case. I like to add a little bit of vermiculite sprinkled over the top and lightly worked in, to help keep moisture and prevent crusting up there.
