Auto leaves look weird

Niiiiice!

In all my years of growing i can count on one hand how many times ive checked ph. Everytime its because the buffer ran out and my ph locked out.

Strong life and that is a true statement. You really look mag light to these eyes. A top dress of epsom salt…no additives pure…cant hurt and only typically helps. We can overammend our living soils easy also. My response to that is ride out a hot build. Ro water has nothing. Sometimes tap/well/reservoir water contains micronutes and alleviates necessity of calcium and some other additives. My water here is very hard. I never need a calcium supplement myself. Just mag with my reused soil.

Please forgive my ignorance. I have a bottle of calmag a company sold me. Havent used yet. Would that work in place of the salt for mag deficiency? I love to learn. Please tell me what it was you saw that suggested mag deficiency? Trying to learn. Thanks!

Yes it will.

Thanks Any suggestions on how to/how much to apply?

Hello , I’m very new to growing but my family’s always been in the photo’s game. This is my first auto / grow ever and I’m in a country which doesn’t allow my medicine unfortunately.

This girl is 45 days old from when I placed her in a cup of water to germinate. She is a gorilla cookies auto from fastbuds and after reading about her and watching videos I wanted to try and copy.

I understand I’m a fool for not doing research on the medium etc.

Growing medium is OneStopGrow Coco mix 70% coco 30% perlite.

25l of coco with 5L worm castings.

I am current using bio bizz nutes.

18/6 schedule

Conditions at night drop to around 8 degrees and when I’m with her during daytime it’s probably around 18-22 degrees.

She has always been fed water Ph to around 6.3-6.5 (After researching down the line I found this is probably a bit high for coco?)

I realised calcium and mag was low in coco but got a bit confused with how worm castings work. So yesterday I gave her 1Ml of bio buzz cal mag thinking this is the right thing to do but reading so much has me paranoid to the point I think I’m failing.

I didn’t notice the point of washing or flushing the coco to eliminate salts or something.

Yesterday after the calmag I’d thought I’d check my runoff for the first time and it was 6.9 which scared me a lot as I haven’t had run off yet and the first time I checked it was this high, so Iv done nothing since this and just watched her but I need an experts help.

I have probably took the complete wrong route and I’m ready for a slaughter. But please guide me , help is all I ask for whether I change to photo or anything , I just need my medicine.

Sorry for the paragraph but I’m really getting myself into a state, I’m on mobile and I have no clue how to post or anything.

She has survived but the conditions I have is a hard factor in winter aswell.

And is now showing signs she’s a female with 4 pistils at the nodes (I’m scared this is preflower)

First photo is before I ā€˜tried’ to train her on 11/12/24
Second Photo is first day I attempted 12/12/24
Third is Current State 20/12/24.

@KeelanW if youre in coco and perlite but are using biobuzz and worm castings, then you want to treat your ph like soil. In veg you want a ph from 6.0 to 6.5 while in flower you want 6.5 to 7.0. Autos can be finicky. I would maintain a ppm of around 800 to 1000 and see how she does. Right now we need to get your ph down. Your girl is unable to uptake any nutrients needed for the veg state due the the ph being so high. Next watering, ph your water down to 6.0 then check your runoff ph amd ppm. Report back your numbers and we will get you back in the right direction.

Ordered the epsom salt, but BuildaSoil begged me not to use pure epsom salt, and to instead use their BuildaBloom and BuildaFlower top dress instead, stating that it contains the magnesium and sulfur that epson salt provides. Is it better for new grower to use amended products or try and piecemeal ingredients?

@ChittyChittyBangin Iv also seen about doing flushing with the same ph till it hits that. Would you recommend waiting and doing it naturally or forcefully doing it in the state she’s in?

Appreciate your knowledge.

Of course they did. They need your money…grin. Epsom is a common growing nutrient for all plants. It is a good practice to have some. Just because. However you add it in is fine. Here is the thing. If it is the only real ammend you need why add more of everything if the rest is in line? Just my thoughts.

I think that makes perfect sense. I only contacted them because i have their soil amd wanted their opinion. I already own both products but point taken and agreed (although i think they sell their own Epsom). My 5lb. bag of PowerGrow Epsom salt arrived today. I hope its an ok producer. Should i be adding to all my plants during flowering? I think I’m week 8 or 9 on these, although I beat the hell out of them. Once a week or every watering (I’ve been watering every 3 days on average). Thanks!

Adding eosom is ok on all plants. Not a lot. Couple tblspn. Not often. Once will probably suffice. Top dress in and let your watering distribute it. I am a believer in simple fixes first before aggressive.

Pictures lol. Jack Herer mag issue before fix.

After epsom 1 week.

You can flush, just remember your ppms.

Buils a soil is organic and developed for living soils. No flush. Heavy ammend just ride out. Keep life strong.

Greetings,
Anytime your put nutrients into your plants water check the ph for autoflowers no higher than 6.8, I run mine around 6.2. But without full knowledge of your nutrients numbers i would say looking at the progression in the flowers you have a magnesium problem.

pH seems to be a real point of contention. I buy BuildaSoil products and the owner claims pH isn’t necessary with living soil. I’m now being told that my RO water is not helping my plants. Ive also learned fabric pots arent good for living soil-too permeable. I ended adding handful of BuildaFlower top dress and 1/4 tsp BuildaBloom. In future i will use Brita water, pHed to 6.5. Its amazing to think these were all planted at essentially same time.

Greetings,
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Your plants look nice, remember your not harvesting leaves. When i used special soils like water only I found them to only be true about maybe pushing it to 6 weeks. After that if my leaves which they often did show nitrogen, magnesium and calcium deficiency issues. Read your leaves and not often the advice of sales people pushing often items they never used themselves. Even in these soils I always ph my water that i give my plants. I use rain water when I can or distilled or even water out of my dehumidifier. I just add cal/mag and a product from HTG store front on
Amazon veg stump tea. You may have to go on HTG site. It is nitrogen only. When using these soils. However when I use the dirty dozen and fox farm soils I use these as well.

Do you recommend adding cal-mag? I have a bottle but have never used. I’ll try your recommended product. How often do you use? I’ve been using distilled water before the RO, so im hoping Brita water will provide some minerals they’ve been missing.
