Hi how did you go with You industrial dinafem? Any pointers I should know? Got one just beginning flowering now @mtmakawao
Dinafem Industrial Auto CBD was a very good grow. Ended up with 120 gram, dried. Had it tested at a lab. CBD/THC ratio was 11.7%/5.4%. It really helps with pain management. Did a lot of LST. Ended up a very short plant, only 14” tall. But the colas were massive. About the diameter of a soda can. @PattyJean

How much amber trics did you have before harvesting?
I’m wondering because as it is a higher CBD type plant, I’m unsure how much amber do I want to see before harvest? Amber 50%?
to begin with, when i transplanted my 4" plant into the 4 gallon pot, i offset it a little to one side instead of centering it in the middle of the pot. that way, as it grew taller, i was able to bend it horizontally towards the center and have it bush out equally in all directions instead of being more to one side had the plant been placed in the center of the pot at the start. as for the LST, i just did the basic bending and tying down horizontally with soft wire. no topping of any kind. i tried and waited for as much amber as possible. probably about 70-80% amber. currently starting another Dinafem Industrial Auto but this time i think i’ll harvest at 40-50% amber and have it tested again. i assume the results will be about the same. just maybe the taste and sedation may change. looking forward to the results. this grow will be strictly using organic nutrients.

You could try and split the stem or drill it. It really does help.

would like to compare the difference between 40% and 80% trichomes. i assume the test results will be about the same, just wondering how the effects will be. just my own personal test and for growing experience.
@mtmakawao oh yep I see. I’m thinking of doing that with the two blueberry I have. Harvesting one when mostly cloudy, then waiting for the second one to get more amber and then I can try two different to see what I prefer.
@GFDuke I have slit my blueberries and now currently have them in the dark for 3 days- I haven’t noticed more trichomes yet. They’re almost ready for harvest at about 80% cloudy, 15% clear, 5% or less amber
it has been suggested to me that i should change the light cycle from 18/6 to more darkness. tried this but did not notice an increase in amber trichomes. came to the conclusion that mother nature will increase amber trichomes when she is good and ready. the blueberries are great. my spouse switches between the blueberry, industrial, and a kush for pain management.
It takes about 5 - 7 days to put on the extra weight. But it does happen. If they are autos they really don’t need the dark. You can also harvest 1/2 of the plant and let the other half go longer if you want.
@mtmakawao yea well 2-3 days in dark and if anything tbh the trichomes seem to be smaller? Dehydrated?? I haven’t done any watering so they’ve dried out a bit but thought I’d be harvesting by now so I wanted them dryer. But I’ve put them back in the tent with light and gave them 1Lt each

I’m not sure splitting stem has done much either. But I spit both so have nothing to compare. Will see. Currently day 106 I think from spout. I’ve heard some ppls have gone up until 130 days though.
@GFDuke so you mean put them in darknessfor 7-10 days?? Put on weight? Interesting, I thought they increased in Trichome production. But my tricomes seemed to get smaller
No @PattyJean. If they are autos they do not need the dark. I meant, it takes about 7 days to see an increase in trichromes/weight. Sometimes longer.
I read this from @blackthumbbetty in another post here. I tried it and it worked great.
If you’re going for it, really go for it.
7 days before harvest: drill or split the main trunk
5 days before harvest: water thoroughly with ice/ice water; this is your last watering
2 days before harvest: lights out for good
