G’day hoping to find and talk to other outdoor Aussie growers . Weather they’re using wetting agents or the no till/dig method . And so on . And hopefully start a journal to help out others here in Australia who are doing the same thing . Or those ehom want to do the same thing .
These are a few folks I can think of:
@Coltfire
@aussie123556
@FrostyBuds
@Reticence
@kettle
Ok great thank you . Bobbydigital
Welcome to the forum.
What state are you in? I’m in SA.
I grew outdoor last year but am now growing indoor due to security issues.
I use 2 products that can be used in both soil and hydro, Great White beneficial bacteria and fungi as well as Cyco Zyme enzyme additive, both are available on eBay the cheapest.
Welcome to site @Kan72 ,I only grow outside , so any help i can be, don’t hesitate ask , I’m in Syd, where are you???
G’day to @Coltfire and @FrostyBuds . I’m in south east QLD . I gave up growing about 25 years ago , due to the police always finding my grows . And I’ve never actually got to smoke anything that I’d grown because of them . I’m sure @FrostyBuds has already helped me with some tips of information . I’m on a disability pension now days , and hope that the few girls I get going will do great and taste fantastic too .
G’day maaaate, don’t worry bud as it becomes more apparent there are plenty of us. NSW .
Yep , I get that feeling @kettle . We aussies definitely have a great environment for growing great girl flowers . An OLD friend told me about the first time he went to the Hunter valley ( i think it was ) where he saw hectares of wild growing flowers ! I wish I could of seen that ! Oh well such are the times .
@Kan72, you should be able to grow outdoors all year round, there in southeast QLD, I have 12 arcers in the hinterlands of the gold coast, but living in Sydney for now, I’ll put up a pic of this season’s grow in the morning.
Oh boy @Coltfire . I remember when my father came home with Mt Tamberine earth worms , those things where like 50/60 cm long ( 2 foot ) . The soil that is up there is beautiful ! Let alone the scenery and rain forest .
@Coltfire that makes me jealous , at how close to home you have your sweet girls . Wishing I could do that with mine . But unfortunately I live on the bottom floor of a three story housing building . What sort of spacing have you got between your girls ?
They are spaced at 80 cm apart, just enough so they won’t get to tangled when fully grown. I have 7 strains growning in there
I got myself a small aquarium plant light
I hope that it is good enough for my babies. so now the hard work has to be done . Go and prepare the grow site . which will probably take me two or three weekends to do. Two different spots for the two different strains I have . Amnesia Haze and Sour diesel . @ColtfireI grew the sour diesel last year , was very impressed with the smoke and the size they grew too. I’m not sure that light is enough, I had same light at one point, I only used it for clones,to get them started. @Kan72
Thanks @Coltfire . I’m just using it to make up a few extra light hours before getting them out into the bush .
Hope you have a nice site , already set up…I couldn’t grow in the bush ,I would have to camp there, just to make sure no one stumbled across them.
As it is once mine start to flower I sleep outside with them, well I stay up and out with them, I hoping this season ,my cage will be enough to keep them out, there is no gate , need to unholy the fence to get in there, and aviary wire all on the side so they can’t put hands through, I have also made it an electric fence, just for added protection, and the fences are 7.5 ft high , with spikes on top. Should be safe enough.
@Coltfire how tall do you expect ya girls will get . Just thinking if you used one inche chook wire over the caged aera you could almost sea of green ( scog i think that’s what it’s called ) the roof of ya cage . I’ve been reading lots on here . So much good and well informed information and people on here . Before joining the forum I wouldn’t of called myself a beginner or newby but now I almost feel stupid . Wow there are some real smart people ere .
I done a few Scrogs,over the years, these plants are expected to grow 2-3 meters, like last year they will be tied down almost in half by full bloom, last season 5 of the plants split right down the middle ,due to there weight, so I make sure I have twine, plumbers tape , and honey , just for repairs.
@Kan72 hi kan72 welcome an nice to meet you, great idea with the journal, like an almanac for different aussie climates an conditions, could be on to something there. good luck.
