Dome watering is a technique some use.

Everything but the seedling gets water ((under the dome).
Very little water.

That’s kinda cool, I never thought of it…My clumsy a$$ would mess that up in a heartbeat tho

Remove dome after watering.
Keeps dry circle near plant and roots, with distant soil moist for root search and grow into.
Enjoy

Looks like yoùr off to a good start. I would use some thin cardboard, etc to wrap around the cup and tape it. That way you can lift the cup out to see root deveopment. I build sifting boxes and have found a way to store leaves long term. I epoxy them onto box lids. Check this out.! They become a dark, jade green with this process.
