Can anyone help with identifying these bugs?
@MattyBear might give some insight
Below is a picture from the web. Sorry, It sure looks like it. Do you see any webs?

No webs, but also I don’t see the trademark 8 legs. I think I probably noticed them early, they only seem to hang out on the underside of the lowest fan leaves.
I’ve pruned all the understory and added a fan.
I think I will buy diatomaceous earth and neem oil.
Looks like a case of the spider mites not to bad yet!!
If you have a handy jewelers loupe or microscope you can tell the difference between aphids and mites. It’s tough to tell naked eye.
I’ve had both and its tough to tell from the pic. Aphids will leave behind honeydew, mites leave behind webbing.
Hit em with a spray bottle full of straight 3% hydrogen peroxide. Get some ‘Captain Jack’s Dead Bug’ and spray the plant with that. Wait 5 days then repeat with both. Pay particular attention to the undersides of the leaves. It will likely require several treatments to eliminate them.
They might not be Spider Mites. I don’t know what they are. But, everytime I have ever had Spider Mites I couldn’t see them with the naked eye. I could only see them with my scope.
Thanks for the extra sets of eyes guys!
Interesting to know that it might not actually be spider mites, rather aphids.
I have worm bins in the same room as my grow tent and my soil mixes have some of the worm castings. I think they probably came from the bins.
I also found several at the floor of the tent hanging out in the drain pan where the soil buckets drain into. Definitely will be wiping that all down with a bleach solution.
@GreenCoat oh yeah I definitely already read that whole article. Thanks for sharing though!
@Myfriendis410 spraying with hydrogen peroxide, that won’t damage the plants?
Better to use peroxide or isopropyl alcohol than bleach. You can safely spray either one on your plants. Alcohol should be diluted 50/50. But you have to use along with something like Captain Jack’s Dead Bug.
Cool. The bleach I mean is only to wipe down the floor of the tent.
I investigated further this morning and only found one leaf with a few of the bugs since pruning. May have gotten off easy. Took all the plants out and wiped down the tent floor.
I am going to check up on them daily and spray down with hydrogen peroxide as soon as I come across any more.
I’ve used fifty-fifty water and rubbing alcohol many times, sometimes with a few drops of original formula Dawn dishwashing liquid, and it works like a charm.
I haven’t had to use potentially toxic chems on my plants for several years
That is some solid insight and advice. Thank you my man!
What that article said is also true though, to make sure you have to spray the plants a couple of times at the right interval so that when eggs hatch the bugs get wiped out before they can lay anymore, but it takes them a few days to mature enough to lay any eggs, so I usually hit them every other day for a week or two
WHEN you spray for that, it’s a lot like tomato blight. They like to hide underneath the leaves so you really want to drench the entire plant. Fortunately isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) is dirt cheap and if you use a gallon or gallon and a half sprayer like I mist my plants with all the time it isn’t such a big deal.
I’m a lazy guy, I like to keep things simple & easy
If you layer your defense (and you KNOW you have pests now) using peroxide and Captain Jack’s, you will be able to control the problem. If you don’t stay on top of it or get ahead of it now it will adversely affect or even ruin your crop.
