You can, but the Boveda is a humidity regulator, not really designed to be a re-hydrator. When I use my Boveda to add moisture back in, I find that it needs to be replaced much sooner.
You can use either the peel or the boveda pack. With the peel you have to keep an eye on it and you are just judging how much peel to add so I suggest the boveda pack to be sure. I add a boveda pack to my cures and remove them once the RH in the bag is around 62%.
Good luck and happy growing
Because it is releasing humidity just like a peel would and it dries up.
I havenāt used boveda packs. I have a bag of leaves and a few bags of buds in the freezer so if I need to, I can just grab from there.
Tip for future⦠Freeze your big trim. If you over-dry you can rehydrate with leaves from the same plant.
Do a search for āmoisture metersā on site, might help prevent issue in the future.
Thanks! I have trim and some tiny buds in the freezer but nothing big so for the future you just add a big fan leaf to your Grove bag and itāll rehydrate? I been looking into moisture meters how do they work you stick it in the stem or the bud and itāll read the moisture?
stick it into the bud.
i use this meter

ILGM Gorilla Glue - Day 20 in Grove Bag. 62% RH. Smell is amazing out of the bag but when you grind it smell goes to another level.
Smooth smoke and awesome high.
Good lookin bud man. I really like the grove bags. I like to use more bags and only fill half full. I feel like it gives the groves more control of moisture but idk for sure
I think that you are supposed to leave some āhead roomā so to speak. Happy growing!
Wondering if you dont heat seal the bags at the top due to frequently getting in them, would you recommend vacuum sealing them, like by sucking the air out or just seal the zipper and whatever air is in the bag stays? TIA
My first post ever by the way. Lol
Welcome. You can heat seal for long term storage but not necessary for short term. Deff dont suck air out! In fact leave āhead roomā in the bag. Ive used oz bags and just grab a bud put it a tube container and smoke out of that.
Putting all of my buds back in jars when I get home. I feel like the grove bags are leaving my product too dry after a certain amount of time. My suspicions were confirmed when I put my chocolope back into a jar after a month in the bag. It was 54% when I put them in and has rose to 56% in 2 days. All of my other crop in bags feel a little on the dry side so theyāll get jarred too. Iām not too sure about the long term reliability. One of my bags seal broke already and this is my second harvest with them. Seems theyāre not made to be open and closed a lot. I will continue to use them for the first month to ensure a thorough dry but Iāll definitely be going back to jars afterwards.
Add a leaf to the jar it will add a bit morr moisture
Good luck to you. Yeah if the seal is bad then itās no different than leaving a jar opened.
Iāve bud in these bags for over a month and RH hasnāt moved. I use the 1 oz as my stash holder though.
I use the 4oz bags and I can smell bud out of every single one up close. Canāt smell squat from the jar
@registereduser Yes Agreeā¦My ILGM skittles was amazingā¦Great smell,taste and trichsā¦
@Bluntsmoke : yeah I guess its the lesser of two evils?..Some would give up taste&smell for moisture content and vice versa. I figure you can always re-hydrateā¦but you cant get back taste and smell?.. I hear you on the jars vs bagsā¦My bagged buds are still great as far as dryness/moisture levelsā¦but my jarred buds that havenāt been opened in a month or more are a lot moister this is way after curing was doneā¦
By the way ā¦As far as sealing them? Do you guys know if Grove ( or do you guys/gals) recommends vacuum sealing them with like a Seal-a- Meal or just a hot seam seal?
