Anyone have a Farmstand Lettuce Grow? I have one for herbs, spices and lettuce, but am wondering if you can use this and not require a transfer. My Farmstand has glow rings and my seedlings are doing great in it and have advanced nicely and in the vegetative growth state but I’m hoping I can just continue to grow them here, and cut as I need for edibles. Any possibility of this happeneing? As you can tell I’m super new at this and only plan on using for edibles and not so much for the high, but more for the anti inflammatory effects of the CBD.
My understanding is lettuce is a ‘low light intensity’ plant. Not so with cannabis. You will likely find you need more light to properly flower off the plants.
FYI I moved your post to it’s own thread so you should get more attention.
Like @Myfriendis410 stated I don’t think you have enough light 2 flower when the times comes
Interesting looking grow stand never seen one before
I’m pretty certain it has enough light as plants that need full Sun are thriving. However, once it grows beyond the glow rings I can see it not having enough light.
Can you prune and use, even if it’s less potent and then have it grow again and then prune and use again? If so, I should be able to manage it in the Farmstand for some time I think. But I know when it outgrows the lights it will be a problem. Which is why I’m hoping I can cut some away regularly to keep the size appropriate.
From what I’m reading I realize it won’t have the potency but I have never used marijuana and suspect I don’t need full potency. And it’s more about the medicinal benefits so I’m hoping this method will work.
Got for other things but seems it’s working well so far
Welcome to the community!! I am out of likes but I wanted to tell you that I have never seen one of those but I think it is very cool. I wish you luck!! Happy Growing
This is a perfect set up for clones or seedlings. Unfortunately you will not be able to flower/ grow buds in such a small place. Marijuana is not like lettuce. Clipping leafs and using them has zero value for any real CBD. You get that from the marijuana flower. Once the plant flowers it dies and parts can be brought back but not the whole plant. I will drop a full plant pic in flower. As you will be able to see from size there wouldn’t even be enough space for the roots. I’m going to tag along because it seems as if you’ve already decided. This will definitely be an experiment
Hey thanks for the feedback. I’m not sure what I’m doing yet. I have some growth before it outgrows this stand. But, by the way, the roots grow massively down to the tank below and they all tangle together so I do have to decide before the roots get too big as they get damaged pulling it out otherwise.
If all your roots grow together you are gonna wanna keep an eye on it.
Pics bellow are from a clone not much bigger than what you have
@BigItch I like the idea of a net on a tomorrow cage. I need to try that!
Weed doesn’t grow like lettuce or greens that you can just trim and regrow. It requires maturation and flowering time and then to be harvested. It’s not that you couldn’t grow it in this system, but would be difficult for a beginner to do so with much success.
I’ve been pulling out the pot daily to ensure the roots don’t get tangled. But I know I have to do something soon. I might just keep one of the plants in the stand and transplant the others. But need to get lighting first.
Just an update for everyone. This hydroponic stand is great for seedlings. I’ve had fabulous success. It Bottomline, unless you use it outdoors, it’ll and you have natural light instead of the glow rings, it outgrows the stand pretty quickly so transplanting at about 6” in height is required.
I GROW SMALL PLANTs AND KEEP them TRIMMED SO ONLY ABOUT 1 FOOT TALL WHEN BEGIN FLOWERING STAGE. HAD GREAT SUCCESS BUT this method DOES LIMIT PRODUCTION PER PLANT
@mvandeberg Welcome to the forum.
Glad you had success. This thread is nearly a year old but thanks for the posts.
Remember that in the internet forum world ALL CAPS is considered yelling.
Grab some coffee and enjoy the family of growers.
Post more pics of the whole process. It looks interesting.
Thanks and Sorry for all caps
Meant nothing by it
