I didn’t know that. The soil I put them was bone dusty dry. I would never have guessed to leave them out to dry I have never heard of the sulphur thing I hope I didn’t end up killing them after 10 years
Thanks for the info I guess I cross my fingers and hope for the best.

Keep it bone dry and I bet you’ll be alright :+1:t2::green_heart::sign_of_the_horns:t2:

The sulfur kills bugs and fungi and uses in industry any time roots get exposed. You can use household items like freshly ground cinnamon or turmeric for antifungal properties.

Edit: I agree SC. Keep it bone dry for 3-4 wks then bottom water.

When I do water it should I add a pinch of cinnamon to the water?
When I transplanted them two had lots of roots and a big tap root but one is just wrapped around itself not deep at all. Should it be watered from the bottom as well?

Nope. That ship has sailed; it must be dried on for protective properties.

Yes. You’re trying to develop the root growth.

Hi cactus growers I noticed this on my plant and wondered if it’s anything to worry about and if it is what do I do about it?
Thanks

It could be mites. Could spray treat To be sure.

IMO Looks more like sunburn blisters. Probably from lack of water. The brown was there previous pic. Has it spread?

It looks like planted in the 11011 mix. That’s no good for non desert plants. I assume this is the problem. The sun blisters are caused by dry conditions and lack of water to sufficiently remain cool.

Ok I have no idea what 11011 is but for the soil I mixed promix with some worm castings a little coconut coir coarse sand and some pumice. I had to wash the roots to separate 3 cacti you said not to water them and keep them bone dry for 3weeks which I did! I just watered them I put extra stone on top when I transplanted them. I kept them about 2 feet away from the window they were in for five years. The brown has always been there at least since I was able to see in between the branches. I will try taking a close up like I do with the Trichomes thanks again.

I don’t usually add until transplanting. Worthless addition without roots.
