Not really sure whats going on.
Same environment. The bigger plant is only a week older.
Not really sure why one is fast into veg, and the other is struggling.

Also, its really odd how the bigger plant is growing with curly fan leaves but straighten out as they grow large.
All the fan leaves have started curly and yellow, then the green comes in and they go into shape.
Anyone? Any ideas whats going on?
I look at clawing and curling as excesses. Whether your overwatering or she’s showing a nute toxicity I’m unsure of 100%.
Im not so worried about the big plant.
Ill take other pics tomorrow but the clawed leaves seem like they are stretching. Once the leaf is fully grown its not clawed anymore. I think it might be genetic but every single leaf started like this, then it straightens out when its fully grown.
You see the big leaf at the front? That was as curled as the bew growth just two days ago.
Its the slow starter im unsure about.
Don’t worry too much about the size difference - sometimes they’re just that way. Like Fieldofdreams said, overwatering/too many nutes are a bigger issue.
For the size differential - don’t sweat it. If you have to harvest 1 plant a week or 2 early and let the other sit for a while, it won’t hurt. If it’s truly a problem, I’d try swapping where they physically sit in the tent - maybe there’s a light/circulation issue that you can’t see as a human.

Happy Versery @Tdh3712
@Tdh3712 did you precharge your soil before planting or transplanting?
No its just plant magic soil
I am not sure but I had something similar happen to me last summer. I transplanted an auto that was doing great into a 7 gallon fabric bag with dry happy frog and continued to water an around the plant in small doses. The plant stunted and I am sure if I had soaked the soil a couple days prior to transplanting, it would have done so much better. I think it was starving
Never count the runt out. Sometimes they suprise ya in the stretch.
Happy cake day!
My only thought is its over watered. Im going to wait for the leaves to droop before watering again.
It seems to be doing better.
Maybe just a slow starter building root
system.
This was yesterday.
This is today
I have also come across the term
Afghani leaf curl.
Which is apparently a genetic trait but I cant find anymore info.
Its Jack Herer. So it does come from Afghani parents. Maybe the Kush is just strong in this one. I dunno.
But its already stinky asf. Like Ive had plants in flower smell less than this does in early veg.
It’s perking up a bit.
I have a couple that are just slow also. Thats why I like doing multiple plants at once. If 1 gives me too much trouble I end up tossing it.
My city is a border city near Afghanistan, so I’m familiar with the Afghani strain. If Jack Herer is an offspring of the Afghani strain, I have a theory: our region shares similar weather—colder nights with cold winds, warmer days with harsher sunlight, strong wind, and dry air and soil. As others mentioned, it looks like your plant may have been watered more than it needs. You’re watering it like other strains, but it may require less. Given these conditions, your plant could do better in this type of environment. That is what i think at least…
Regarding the plant size, were they clones? If they were clones, then the size difference could simply be the effect of that one-week age gap. However, if they were from seeds, keep in mind that no two seeds are ever 100% the same—just like children in a family aren’t identical. Even with the same strain, genetic variation will lead to differences in growth patterns.
Yes thank you. Ive done some research and it definitely has Afghan genetics.
I will cut the water down.
All other conditions I seem to be meeting.
Ill dry it out and see if new growth is better.
With one being bigger than the other.
It actually gives me a good opportunity at my first attempt to super crop.
Next week I will super crop the bigger plant just above where I plan to top it later on for my mainline, while the other plant catches up a bit.
My ultimate plan is to mainline both plants, and supercrop them for the main training method, with some LST for good measure.
I have 8ft of headroom this grow. So, I want to grow 6ft monsters
