Hah you’re right we do.
How long you been growing?
Hah you’re right we do.
How long you been growing?
Only this last year honestly, the plant in full bloom is my first plant ever. She had super unfit conditions the first month of her life (I mean look at her she’s in a heavy ass house pot) lol and that heavily stunted her growth. I will say, the one giving me problems was the last to sprout out of the 3 new ones, and her name has been Lazy since I started keeping a log, so… I shouldn’t really be surprised. But yeah I’ve been/felt the same exact way with defoliating so far.
How long do you think this one has left?
That looks great for your first plant. Far better than my first run. Looks like you’ll get some good smoke out of it.
She’s getting close. You have a way to check the trichromes? Like a loupe? That’s the best way to determine if she’s ready to cut down. There are about a million posts on here and you can find a good pic of what the trichromes should look like. Mostly cloudy heads with a certain % of amber heads. Less amber, more head high, more amber will be more couchlock.
Yeah, these pics are from this past Saturday. From what I see, still mainly clear. There were some amber ones already but not a whole lot. Also still a lot of white hairs IMO. Do you think I’m to the point where I should just start flushing the next time the soil dries out and from there on just water?
With lots of white hairs it’s likely not done yet. They can surprise you with how much the buds swell while looking done already. Trichromes still look mostly clear. If it were me, I’d wait at least a week.
Those are pretty good pics you got of the trichromes.
Should I stop giving nutes and start the flushing process?
You can. I don’t have a lot of experience with salt-based fertilizers, so I might not be the best person to answer. My guess, and it’s a guess, you’d be benefit by going down to half-strength feeding for the next week, then to water-only from there on out.
Are the buds still getting bigger? My understanding is you can keep feeding while buds are increasing in size. Once they stop, you have another week or so while they ripen that you can go to water-only.
In use organics and living soil, so technically the soil ‘feeds’ the plants right up until harvest.
You will get differenent responses on that. I know a lot of people feed up until harvest.
In your opinion does it make buds taste worse?
I’ve done both with no noticeable difference in taste or harshness
I have done it both ways and cant tell a difference. Im just gonna feed up until harvest from here on out.
So bro have you ever seen anything like this? This is the plant that you said looks like a Nitrogen toxicity. From what it seems bro, she has stopped growing branches and instead in the spots where branches would normally form, she is just flowering? Like where fan leaves come out, and then right above them where the axillary branch usually forms with a flower on it, it’s not a branch, it’s just flowers and leaves from what I can see. Will plants do this? What is going on? @MidwestGuy have you ever seen this happen either? @4204life? @GardenDan?
That’s normal, I would still recommend putting this on a water diet until the PPMs drop to around 800-1000
Awesome. I just watered her tonight and didn’t feed her. Watered with 7.5 PH straight water and 6.5 came out with ppm’s at 1,200 (my water is 200 though). I will probably give her a light feed the next time I water. But for whatever reason these 3 plants just took 10 days to need watering again… the soil was still moist 2 inches down until today, the 10th day after flushing them. That’s insane right?
Yeah 10 days is a long time. That tells you she can’t drink much because of the e issues she’s having. Better to be patient and wait a while. I’ve overwatered before, too small plant in a big container, didnt end up watering again for a month.
If you have some close to harvest, they do slow down on taking in water near the end.
How’s the problem plant looking now? Any improvement?
She’s doing alright but the main weird thing is that her upper flowering spots didn’t turn into actual nodes/branches. Like the main center cola just kept all of those node sites as her own flowers for that cola if that makes sense. Like she’ll grow all the rotating fan leaves up the cola and then directly above them where a node typically forms and a branch grows out, is just hella flowers. Have you ever seen this happen?
Oh yeah, that’s normal for a top cola. Buds all along the top part, could be 12-4 inches, depending on strain/pheno.
Okay cool. Well idk what’s going on with her then, she just looks small and shriveled up a little bit lol but she’s coming back I think I will skip feeding her next water though, just feed the other 2. She has too many nutrients I think
@OGIncognito @GardenDan @4204life hey guys, I have a question. I started 3 plants at the same time a couple months ago. 2 of them sprouted first, then a few days later the other one sprouted (same problem plant we have been talking about). Something super weird I noticed is that the first two are significantly taller than the third, but what’s weird is that their flowering sites don’t have any trichomes on them at all, but the third smaller plant is covered in them on every bud site. Has a bunch of sugar leaves already. Honestly this plant pretty much started producing trichomes right after it went into flowering. Isn’t this strange?
The two healthy ones don’t have trichromes at all? Can you send a couple pics, whole plants and close up please. It’s normal for trichromes to not show up at first in flowering, but you should see some after a few weeks.
As to your problem child plant… who knows! Stress response could trigger early trichromes production. It could also just be a genetic difference. Given the problems this plant had/has, keep a close eye for any hermaphrodite traits coming out as part of its stress response, it could cause some male flowers to develop and self-seed your buds. How has this one been doing the last couple weeks, is she improving?
