First time grower. Miraculously made it into the veg stage. Doing my best over here to keep my guys happy and alive. Have them in their second pots, watering once the soil dries out. Light is a foot overhead, which is what the manufacturer recommends.
My leaves have started looking slightly funky though. Some are curling up on the sides and some are curing down at the ends.
This is week 4 or 5. Fox farms soil, haven’t added any nutes yet.
Thanks for the response. It’s a balmy 68-70 degrees at the canopy. Humidity I’m not sure about, because I’m a noob and I don’t have a way to check. If I had to guess I’d say fairly low.
You may or may not need humidifier, i would see first. In a perfect world your lights on temps would be around 80f and rh 60% or so. I suspect plants would look a better if so.
With fox farm you wont have to use any fertilizer for about three to four weeks but you can make a seaweed liquid and water mix to water ur plants if you make up a gallon bottle of water i would put five mls of seaweed liquid this will help with root growth and development aswell as a immune booster for ur plants
Until you get a hygrometer you can find a RH calculator online. Just need to know temp and humidity outside and temp in the room I think. Just punch those values in and you’ll at least know about where RH is. Make sure your hygrometer has a magnet on the back. Makes it easier to get it where you need it. Welcome btw. Someone here can help you with any issue you have going forward.
Thanks for the advice everyone! This is an awesome community.
I’ve got a fan going to keep my light from heating things up, but I bet if I kill the fan we’d hit around 75 around the canopy. manufacturer says it’s passively cooled, so not too worried about the light itself. I’ll check the humidity once my hygrometer gets here and see if I can’t take a stab at using a calculator before then. My guess is definitely towards dryness. It’s fall in New England and my apartment has radiators.
@Aussie_autos, do you have a guide I could check out for that, or tips on the type of seaweed?
