Any advice for LED Grow Tent Set Up, Greatly Appreciated!

Hello, I am usually an outdoor grower, but I have just purchased a Grocell tent - 100x100x200
and a VIPARSPECTRA Reflector-Series 300W LED Grow Light Full Spectrum.
I wanted to grow in my garage in winter…then I realized that LED lighting will not create any heat! Gah.
Is there anything else I will need to add? Should I get another type of light?
Please send HALP!

That light is only 136 watts so it is not going to warm up the place much at all. If you need some heat, a 600 watt HPS will bring the heat, but how cold is it going to get when the lights are off? Need to keep it over 60F.

Good point. Maybe a heater in the garage on a timer?

You could also run the lights during the coldest times so the heater doesn’t have to work too hard.

I had an issue of the temps dropping below 70 at night in our grow tent and could barely get it above 73 or so during the day. I bought a small ceramic heater with a thermostat and also a warm mist vaporizer, as we live in a higher elevation desert environment. That has helped tremendously. Now I worry about the electric bill. Setting up a Mars Hydro light tomorrow as the UFO light the tent (Covert from Hydrobuilders) came with is simply not going to give us nice heavy buds. These two fixes have worked well for the short time I needed them. It has warmed up, the room the tent is in has the AC shut off and I no longer need the heater or the warm mist vaporizer, using cool mist insteads. Turning on the AutoPot system tomorrow after new light installed, and suspect that will help keep humidity up in the tent. Averaging about 50 rh in tent now and happy with that as it was struggle to get anywhere above 40.

So…if this helps, your humidity level will effect the temps, too.

Best of luck! It seems like a daily challenge. This is my first time grow, from seeds. And all 7 look remarkably well. Will have to put 3 outside now as I overplanted expecting failure of some. ILGM seeds all made it plus one bagseed. Hubby says I am a helicopter cannabis mommy but hey, he won’t gripe when he has nice Wedding Cake buds to enjoy. :slight_smile:
