Another nutrient question from an annoying newb

Ok I’m a little confused (ok a lot) I’ve been using Gh flora series with what I would consider good success for my current and last 3 grows. I accidentally stumbled upon their feeding schedule on line which is very different from the feeding directions on the bottle? Why???

So I decided for whatever reason? To follow the medium schedule to start with rather following the directions on the bottles

Any explanation and what I’m doing right or wrong moving forward is greatly appreciated as usual.

Thanks everyone you’re all great!!

I did the same thing with fox farm nutes. Go with the schedule. The directions on the bottle are kinda generic if you get what I mean. And if it’s recommended to flush you need to do it. :v::call_me_hand:

I would follow the schedule for the week to week but the strengths you need Will probably differ. You will probably need to make slight changes to find what works best for you. I would start off with an EC of about 1.4 and go up from there.

I do not know anything about ec? I have the blue lab pen but never used it for ec? Only ph which of course I use every water or feed

Can you explain? Ty

Absolutely, EC is the concentration of nutrient solution. Often referred to as ppm/tds.

Testing for these numbers will tell how much nutrients you are adding and how much is in the soil.
It’s definitely a helpful tool, takes the guess work out.

Ok so my ec at todays feeding was 1.6 and I adjusted ph to 6.3

I’m following the flora series medium feed chart at 3weeks now, I think I’m finally starting to understand

However- the chart only goes up to 4 weeks for veg?? No way will I be ready at 4 weeks to flip light cycle?

So how do I follow chart from here on out? Just stay at the 4 week feeding level then adjust whenever I flip to flowering?

Thanks again

Great question!
General you would continue feeding in at the same 4week strength 1.6EC until you are a couple weeks into flower and follow the flower schedule.

You may need to adjust your feedings EC based on your runoff numbers.

What medium are you using?

I’m just useing promix with a little worm castings

Can I check runoff (pour in a cup) with my blue lab ph/ec pens?

Thanks man

Yep, water the pot so a little extra come out the bottom, capture this runoff with something clean and test its ph and ppm.
This will give you a good idea what the root zone ph/ppm is. Which is the most important.
