Before I get to harvesting the purple haze I need to ask a couple scrogging questions @HappyHydroGrower @peachfuzz @Fano_man2 :
1 - when should I flip these girls? I believe the rule of thumb is when the net is around 50%. I think I about there.
2 - How high should the second net be set above the first. It is right around 12-13" right now. This is as low as it will go without cutting the PVC. It can go up to around 18"

The bottom side is pretty much cleaned out

I captured a couple of the wild ones from the first photos

Each plant has 3 - 4 mains and I will try to limit as many secondary growth points based on available space. Their mother’s colas run around 10+"
It could get interesting. Thanks in advance.

IMO, one purple haze could fill that scrog after flipping to 12/12 when it’s about half full. The purple haze I grew seem to stretch about as much as SD. I’ve found that training till they start to make buds and then let them grow straight up seems to do really well for me. Just my opinion! :+1:t2::v::sunglasses:

Love the node spacing you have going on.

As far as how high for the second scrog, I try to determine that after the stretch, usually about a week or two after first bud sites.

Yeah I know. I filled it up with one purple kush. I had a bunch of clones so I thought I would do a quick turnover and use some up. I will to keep them contained to the frame by pruning out the excess.

High,
Okay I get it now. Use the net to “weave”. I will try that next grow. They’re already starting to flower now

Happy growin

Yep I am learning as I go. I am trying to keep to a few objectives. Fill the second net with buds. So spread it out as evenly as I can now. Restrict the amount of growth to the frame - scissors at the ready.
Keep adequate bud spacing. And have a blast doing it.

That’s been my philosophy as well. Learn as much as I can on here… learn the rest on them. Enjoy the ride.

I think a plant stand like yours might be in order for me really soon

I must admit it works great. Putting casters under it made it even easier to use.

Every time I see them… I get closer to making some.

I might try to get a buddy who welds to assist. I’d love to be able to make them with steel but I’m a way that I could get 4 quadrants in my small tent and still be able to run 4 stains.i know it’s tight, but I’ve seen people do incredible things pushing small spaces to produce big.

you have 27x27" tent? I can see it happening. I think it would be more suited to photos and being able to control veg and size. A mainline that is only topped twice to give you four colas per plant. Sixteen in a tent with four plants. I have only grown 1 strain in a tent at a time. Even though it is only one strain there is often enough variation between plants that it can be somewhat problematic. 4 strains could be nuts but manageable with characteristically similar strain selection. You know, this sounds like a great idea and when this bathroom clone grow is coming to an end I should give it a try. Four 3-gallon fabric pots would fit in there nicely.
I was looking a building a frame out of 10 series aluminum extrusions from TNutz. I am not very mechanically inclined so passed on it plus could get a little pricey if I wanted 3 or 4 of them. A four compartment frame made from small diameter PVC would pretty easy.
Anyway, make it happen if you can.

These are the seven remaining purple haze clones. I fed them their Jacks along with some AN (5.9
1100) (ancient earth (humic/fulvic acids), mother earth, sensi, voodoo juice and bud candy. It has been a couple feedings since they had a shot of voodoo so it was time to give them some and some candy to eat. They all received some pruning too.

The two in front are in 2-gal pots the others are in 1-gallon.
Some decisions regarding their destiny have been made.
The two in front are headed to the tent. Each has been pruned to two mains with four growth tips each. Your basic Nebula Manifold. With this in mind you can see I am also preparing 5-gallon pots to receive them when they move to the tent Thursday. I will then do some LST to counter act any stronger growth exhibited by one side over the other. With only two I will be able to let them grow out more than I could with four.

This is the 2-gallon before she was pruned

Lower branches have been removed. I still need to take off the top growth tip and others so I only have 4 on each side

The remaining five were pruned down to 5 branches each. Three of them are destined for the new closet. When it is time I will pick the best 3 and sorry to say the other 2 will be composted. The rest of the pruning is still TBD.

That is where I am at today.
Till next time

Today is one of those days. It is a milestone of sorts. Granted it is a small one in the scheme of things but, hey, for some of us seeing another sunrise makes for a good day. :sunrise_over_mountains: :sunglasses:Today is transplanting day. I am using some of the coco coir from the kush autopot. I rinsed it really well to remove any remaining salts. Also washed it through a kitchen colander. This step was well worth doing even if it was a bit of a pain. This washed out the very small particles that broke down during the grow. The bottom of the bin was a dark sludge. Then gave a good soak in regular Jacks, calmag with Sensizym. AN recommended adding their enzyme brew to finish cleaning up any remaining roots which will then feed the microbes and Voodoo Juice’s bacteria.
The Velcro transplanters makes this process easy and stressless on the plant

Nice healthy looking roots

Add some Great White, mix in a little RAW dried Yucca, set the depth and the cage and voila.

One more thing to do. Gotta do a little bending. Actually more like super crop

She sits pretty tall but I could not set it any lower in the pot.
One side was a little thicker and stiffer. Broke the skin and applied some fresh aloe vera.

Same steps with number…yes this is #2

The tie on the right is being used to provide leverage and twist the stem. I want the first set of nodes to be horizontal so they can grow straight up. I think you can guess who I got that from :bow_and_arrow:

One other thing to note if you care to, the left branch is not tied down at this time. It needs to grow more / faster than the other side so they are more equal. Hopefully it will cooperate and it can be flattened out in a couple of days.
There you have it. Only two girls in the tent this time. I am now on veg and training time. More room, bigger girls.

This is the part I think I enjoy most.
Till next time

I am not exactly sure how something can be more equal. Anyway, I think you get what I mean.
The lights are set at 24". The Kind is full blast since that is its only setting. The photo boost is about 20% - 35w. So have a total of about 300+. I will crank up the photo boost over the next week or so.

Have a good one

8/23 SOG update. I flipped to 12/12 on 8/19 so this is the 4th day. For reference this is a photo from 8/15

And today. They have grown a bit.

When I flipped I bent a couple of the main stems back toward the center and tied them off. If I didn’t do this, as they stretch, they would grow well beyond the frame.

I have to take a critical look at where the canopy is. I need to level it out better and also thin some growth points out.

The top frame will have a grid of 25 squares. I have six plants. How does four colas per plant giving a total of 24 main colas sound?
Is this too many for a 24x24 space?
I definitely have some work to do. But it is good work!

Till next time :sunglasses:

I love the sound of 24 colas stretching for the heavens. I can’t wait to see how this unfolds
