I have had two prior aborted attempts at Blueberry auto flower. One turned out to be tall and skinny, no budding. Next just sort of stopped growing. But I’m at it again. If at first you dont succeed.
This is th best looking plant I have had so far. Keeping fingers crossed. Maybe three weeks form sprouting.
First one sounds like you got a batch of fem seeds…
Autos typically don’t do well with transplanting. So I would do that sooner than later, auto flowers stress easily and can go into flower prematurely…
Your plant is gonna be facing some issues from being in the tiny pot so long. Autos are like hitting a timer, they only have so much time to fill the pot with roots and grow to size. If the pot is small, the plant will stay small. Think of it as bigger roots equal bigger fruits.
It sounds like your technique could use some refining. I can help if you would like but will need some more information. Setup, soil make and model, nutrient line, watering frequency and amount, temp and RH of growspace, and anything else you can think of.
I agree with everyone else, starting autos in forever pot is the method I know to be the best or at least offers the most success.
Thanks for the comments, folks. based on advice, I transplanted the plant into a much bigger pot as soon as I woke up.
If it matters, I am using the ILG fertilizer. Im using stage two grow time fertilizer for now. Mix it as recommended. I have been watering by using a spray bottle maybe a couple of time a day. idont water it very much, sort of going by feel of soil; not too wet, not too dry. Relative humidity is low in general, I live in the desert, so I have been keeping the initial grow pot on top of another pot filled with soil, and I have been keeping that soil very wet hoping it increased the very local humidity a bit. Have four smallish lights set on it from all angles. I keep the lights on anywhere from about 12-16 hours a day. Temp where growing is about 75.
You can flower under 12 or 24 hour light. DLI is what matters. Daily light integral. I’d suggest using the search bar. autoflower and dli. However the shorter the schedule the more intense the light and for an auto that could stress it out if environmental conditions are not optimal. Which can lead to small plants/early flower or herms.
Autos are more difficult than photos for the record.
They typically demand the same as a normal plant. Non-auto.
The longer the light schedule, the lower the intensity. Sure you can throw all you got at it but it can only take in so much, then the rest is wasted. For figuring this out you need a meter, lux/ppfd, or an app like photone. It can give you a reasonable idea of range.
Planting an autoflower as a new grower, or any grower for reassurance actually should be directly into the final pot. They are sensitive and unless you are really used to transplants and able to do it without any shock I wouldn’t be jumping pots.
It looks like you are on the verge of burn, lots of nitrogen in there.
Tracking PPMs and watering accordingly based on the medium is important. Soil wet dry cycle…
Thanks for the info. I used the photon (?) app, with the little paper diffuser, and wet the number of hours to 14. DLI was about 38. Looked up some charts and that might be just a smidge under ideal, but close I think.
This right here… I am learning the timing through oooofff and ahhhhaaaaa.
These are 10 days old and thinking I need to break em out or bust the bottoms and get them in pots ASAP but still 2 weeks or so before my budders are done… small space sucks
Looks good. Got 5 ounces off my first BB auto. So best of luck!!
I think I may try that. I want to see how many I can keep rolling at one time and have seen the stunting transplanting can do, it feels 50/50 success with autos for me and retransplant.
