I keep it on low when I use it, but it’s a little too powerful for the tent right now. Next time I’ll have small domes for.my girls instead of trying to humidify the whole tent lol. Hopefully in about a week the humidifier can just be taken out

Girls looking good today. Not much else to report, still just growing. Watered them today, just pH water, no nutes. Still not watering the whole pot, just a slightly larger circle around the plant each time. Trying to get those roots growing where I want them to go! Did add a small amount of root stimulator, but honestly I was so scared to add anything to the water that I barely used any, so probably no effect anyhow. 
. Aside from that, the distilled water is running great in my humidifier, heater is keeping temps in check, and they seemed to have responded positively to lowering the lights a bit. I used that app to measure the par and ppfd, and tried to dial in the distance and power as best I could, while leaving me room to ramp it up over the coming weeks. I’m certain that the app isn’t perfect, but even if it gets me in the ballpark, I’m happy with it. Definitely an improvement on the way I had it before, and with the plants seeming to like it…can’t argue with results. Hope you all are doing well, and know that I appreciate you following along. I’ll be trying to do updates daily, but I’m a father of 4, so my days get hectic sometimes haha.

Pictures from this morning. I have heard that some autos grow pretty big, while some stay fairly small. It seems I may have one that wants to be large, while the other two are slowly coming along. The first sprout that came up has been the strongest, and the pictures clearly show how well she is doing, especially compared to the others. No concerns at this point either way, but just something I find interesting. Watch, the tall one will end up male 
the fan should be exchanging the air inside the tent every minute or so based on what i have read.

When I turn the fan and filter off, I still have passive vents for intake, and exhalation that I open, and that’s about the only way to keep my humidity up to 70% or so. Keeping it low will no issue at all lol. I just need to make it through this week and I will be good

So until they are bigger the passive air flow is fine.
Fir example here’s my germ/earlier veg closet and I only turn exhaust fan own if Temps get to high.
And I’ve never had any trouble.
Like you it’s the only way I can keep RH and temp stable on them with my tents beside them needing to be lower RH.
The opening under the door and the hole with panyhose covering it is the only openings.
These and many others before them have done well like this.

Don’t get me wrong, @alexankh is absolutely correct though. It is basic rule of thumb to exchange fresh air once a minute. But in early stages they will not be using much co2 at all and keeping the RH stable and up with have huge benefits 
It is a good idea of course to keep air moving a little bit inside with a fan.

I do have two small clip fans constantly running in the tent, one pulling air in from a vent on the bottom, and one pushing hot air out of the top, in the opposite side. There’s also one other fan, on low, blowing across the plants themselves. I had read where that will help them have a sturdy stem, so figured that would be helpful. My biggest mistake with this grow so far was germinating the seeds in the tent. A smart guy would have germinated his plants, kept them under a dome for a week or two, and transplanted into their final pots. I was so nervous about stunting the growth from transplanting that I just planted the seed directly into the final pot. Now, to be fair, this did work out for me, but there’s no doubt in my mind that I took the longest possible route to get to this point. That’s ok though, I definitely learned my lesson there, and there’s a healthy learning curve for me here anyhow, so I’m not upset. I prefer to make the mistakes and learn from them rather than have everything go smooth and I get a big head because of it lol.

I want to do something similar in my home, but figured I should get a few grows under my belt, and make sure I know what I’m doing before I start renovating lol. Pretty sure that if my wife came home right now to me building a legit grow room in our home that she might divorce me . She was fine with the tent, so I better not push it, for now anyhow.
In all honesty, my wife loves seeing me so happy. Since I started this adventure, she says she’s never seen me so involved and excited about something. Having that extra support sure helps

Also, just curious, but what are everyone’s preference? Photos or autos? Everyone says autos are tougher to grow, but easier to deal with due to less time, and that photos are more forgiving, but require quite a bit more work. I’ve grown photos before, but this is my first try at autos, and so far the only real difference has been not feeding any nutes to my plants yet, and the slower growth in the beginning, though those two things are probably related. But yeah, just curious what you guys prefer. I chose autos this time because I only had one tent, and couldn’t add a separate room for flower at this time, but ultimately that’s my goal. Have a veg room, a flower room, and with luck, harvest after harvest of tasty buds. I’m getting ahead of myself here, but a guy can dream right?

Update, woke up this morning and realized my humidifier had run out of water at some point, and when I got to the tent, humidity was 27%. I’m pretty concerned, as the plants were showing some spots on the leaves. I got the humidifier going again as soon as I could, but I would estimate that the plants went for roughly 12 hrs with low humidity. I included a picture, but is this something they will bounce back from? Or is there anything I can do to fix my mistake here? Or even possibly that the spots have nothing to do with the humidity? They certainly grew a little overnight, as the leaves are still coming in nicely, but the spots have me concerned
Those two spots are now rust colored, which definitely concerns me. The other two seem to be just fine, but this one still looks a little sickly.
12 hours of low humidity will not kill them. good catch.

Day 9. So the girls are looking much better this morning, clearly still growing, though the spots remain. Aside from the spots, there doesn’t seem to be anything affecting the health of the plant, and the leaves are still growing pretty steadily. My only question at this point, is should I start feeding lightly? Seems most people are 50/50 on this, so wanted you guys opinions. I am growing in FFOF, though it was cut with perlite and vermiculite, and flushed once before planting my seeds. I know the soil should have enough nutes to get through a month, but kinda thought a small dose of nutes might encourage some more growth. I already know to cut the recommended dose by at least 1/2, better yet, 1/4, and figured I’d go with like 1/8 of the solution to just give the girls a taste. Thoughts on this? I watered yesterday, so wouldn’t be till tomorrow at absolute earliest, possibly Sat.
End of day 9, and there was fairly significant growth today. All 3 still show signs of stress, but all seem to be growing in a healthy manner. Not much to report today, everything has stayed consistent with the tent, and with the girls doing well, I guess that’s the only news lol.
Day 10, all 3 still doing great, and growing strong. You can literally see the difference between when I go to bed and wake up in the morning, so that has me pretty happy. Also, I had gotten rid of the grease monkey seedlings, due to space and a couple other reasons, but ended up leaving one in a pot in my basement. It was just tucked away, and I assumed the seed was a dud, but I happened across it today, and a sprout had come up! The seed was still attached to the top, and it had to have been sitting there for 4 or 5 days, so looked pretty fried. Glad to say that I gave it some water and threw it in the tent, and she opened right up. So guess she can stay for now lol
Quick update, pictures will follow, but finally gave my girls their first real drink today. I let pots dry all the way out, and then saturated the pots entirely. Got about 15% runoff, and I’m just letting them soak it back up for now. Each plant took about 2/3 of a gallon. Ro water, with 5ml grow nutes and 10ml root stimulator per gallon. Soaked my girls thoroughly over about a half hour or so. Closed everything back up, and now we wait
Day 12. Fed them for the first time yesterday, and after some initial drooping, they all seem to have bounced back and appear to be thriving. I am watching the next sets of leaves grow before my very eyes, and they are all growing rapidly. After watering, the humidity was getting slightly out of control, so had to turn the ventilation on. This drops my humidity to around 55, 60%, but I will have to live with it for now. All in all though, I’m happy with how things are progressing. For being my first grow, I’m finally feeling like I’m getting somewhere.
