Air conditioning in tent

@RA305ra lemme know in a few days how its working out

@Dj351

Also thinking my ac unit could do better.

I was inspired by your post on controlling heat and humidity. My tent is outdoor in a shed…and located in the US Southern state.

My portable was only $90 in a pawn shop. (So that may be my problem?)

  • not sure where the thermostat is located on the unit. I set the temp on 77 and it doesn’t seems to make a difference. If the heat is on, it will crank to over 100 degrees (yikes!). The cool function also has challenges with ignoring the set point?

Wish I know where the thermostat was located.

Picture of my install above in previous post.

@Fatz1973 hello, haven’t heard from you in a few days. Guess the new job and travel time are keeping you busy. How long will it take to finish the sidewalk? Is it just sidewalk or will there be a rock wall on both sides? Hope your doing well… my osteoarthritis has my hips hurting. It will get better with a few days rest. Have a awesome day tomorrow¡

@ChittyChittyBangin i love it. Thing keeps the closet and the room cool. Plus the closet is close to the garage so the automatic dehumidifier is a plus on the hotter days. Definitely worth the money

@RA305ra are you able to program a temp and the unit cut itself on and off when desired temp is reached?

@ChittyChittyBangin yes. Same for dehumidifier it can either come on automatically or you can set on and off manually. It even has a sleep mode if you wish to use but like I said this closet is in my master bedroom so it keeps my room nice and cold at night

@RA305ra sweet. Im looking at Lowes, but the price range for a 12000 like your toshiba is a few hundred off. The nearest home creepo is about a hours drive. Daytime highs are keeping my lights off temps around 80 and im cranking exhausts trying to keep things cooled down… gotta love this crap…

@ChittyChittyBangin yup I heard that. It’s really hot around my way too and humidity is always high too so this was a must. Also when you decide on a unit try to grab yourself this exhaust tubing

It’s insulated so it definitely helps keep the heat your unit lets out under control. If not the space directly behind your unit will feel hotter than before you bought the a/c

@ChittyChittyBangin btw a little cheat tip. The box of insulated r6 is $40 plus tax for 25’ idk how much you need but I took 8’ or so, enough to reach my ceiling cut it clean and the rest went back to Home Depot for a full return. Just tell them it didn’t work or what ever.
