I am in CO. If you love nature and outdoors this could be a great destination destination.
I don’t use so I haven’t kept up on if there are any smoking lounges here.
You could rent a place in the mountains and imbibe on the back porch or while hiking. You are allowed to carry I think an ounce in your possession. My sister in law is a birder and you can find all sorts of species here. Many historical old towns and friendly people
Hotels and many BNB’s say no MJ indoors since it is hard to get the smell out.
You’ll would have to research different counties and cities since they can impose stricter regulations than the State.
@JaneQP Thanks, Colorado was one of my original plans before I asked for input…always wanted to go there. Still is strongly in the running for all the resons you mentioned. If I come out, maybe you guys could teach us how to swing on a vine.
That is what I did this year. I moved here in Feb and other than missing an occasional thing that I loved from US its been awesome! I used to live in Tx and was tired of everything going on there and the inflation is crazy. Certain things are pricey here but for the most part pretty cheap. I bought property on the water with 2 houses on it for $120,000. I do live on the east side of the island but property is just going up here. Oh and the people are so friendly!
Oh and when is the last time you saw children out by themselves? The kids here are like in Japan they do everything by themselves… ride taxis and walk to school… out just having fun… No one is trying to take them and I don’t wake up and hear about someone being murdered, the worst thing here is theft and its rare.
Currently in TX and I agree 100%. The whole kids safety thing is total BS we live in a world were everything is being recorded. Every person has a camera and when strange things happen you know someone is recording it. The world is safer now than it was when I was a kid. The issue is there are more people now so all numbers rise exponentially.
Just got back from my trip…meant to update before but had a harvest going and was getting ready for the trip. Thanks to all that gave input…great crowd sourcing. I decided to take @JaneQP advice and go to Colorado. (Although no time to meet Jane and Tarzan on this trip) It met the most of my wish list and I have never been there before.
I worked with Colorado Cannabis tours to book three different 420-friendly hotels in Estes Park, Denver and Boulder. They also arranged an extraction facility tour, and a backstage tour of a large grow operation. A bit expensive, but I did really enjoy myself. We also visited a Cannabis consumption club called Tetra in Denver. They have a nice indoor area with couches, board games, video games, music, free water…and a large outdoor area with sitting areas and yard games. You bring your own weed and can come and go to the local bars and even bring back food. – Great trip
@CMichGrower I also kinda took your advice. I decided to take a separate trip, so I signed up for the convention this week in Vegas…picked all my seminars…including Dr. Bugbee’s. I just did not pay while I planned the rest of my trip. Then I saw some reviews saying that the people there were not interested in talking to home growers (notable exceptions were HLG and Jack’s 321) and I saw how damn hot it is right now. I ended up deciding not to go but am signing up for the one in Detroit in October. Not sure Dr. Bugbee will be at this one, so I am on his waiting list for his next online master cannabis class.
@Mosca and @J-the-beginner I have been to both areas before and was looking for somewhere new…hope other consider it…thanks
@ChittyChittyBangin – would love to birdwatch in your backyard and sample your 4 strains…never know
@DieselGRWR I am coming to New England for sure…you sold me. Probably next summer. Picked Colorado this time because it has a more established industry. I’ll pick your brain again in the spring with specifics
@meggie2409 / @registereduser – You two have me intrigued. I love Central America, I have never been to Honduras…and the way you describe Roatan is idyllic for me. I have been looking for a winter home so I would like to come check it out this winter…relax, birdwatch and who knows, maybe become a part time resident. I may pick your brain as it gets closer.
Others…feel free to chime in…I can’t believe I am the only one that wants a cannabis friendly vacation.
Glad you had a great time! Colorado is on my list as well, need to see some mountains.
I still have kiddo at home, cannabis traveling for me is gonna have to wait a few years yet! But back in the late 90s i did make it over to Amsterdam and got stoned for the first time. SO worth it!
I left a party early to lie down in the youth hostel. Felt like my body was on a heated vibrating mattress. even the hostel kitty cat came over to make sure I was ok. blazed my first rodeo!
I’ve only visited Roatan a few times so I’m no expert. I have enjoyed it every time. From what I understand Roatan is a safer location as opposed to the mainland. A lot of political unrest in that part of the world.
Thanks for that. It is one of the reasons I have not visited yet. I’ve been to Belieze, Costa Rica, and Panama. Will keep an eye on things before deciding to go.
