Additional lighting for my 4x4 tent

Hi grow family,
Last year was my first attempt at growing. I learned a lot with help from forum members. Some learning errors but not a failure. What I really need to improve on is lighting. I purchased a 4x4 tent setup from VivoSun. It came with a VS4000 light (not enough for a 4x4 tent).
Using a light meter I found ok readings in the center, but severe falling off outside of that. I don’t want to spend a ton on a new light,so I thought I would suppliment it. I came across a ChilLED Growcraft X3 330 LED Grow Light. It shows exceptional edge to edge cverage for a 4x2 area. I was going to order it, but after placing it in the cart I was asked to select one of the two spectrums ( veg or flower). Whoops…now what? Any input on what I should do? Thanks

Look at HLG (I’m a fan) There you get state of the art technology. Depending the budget check out the Scorpion series lights. Memorial Day sales there close get a good deal.

Panda checking in here…

I started out quite awhile ago and fell victim to the dreaded amazon blurple lights :laughing:

I used a spider farmer 2000 for a couple grows.

Im just gonna say that since i upgraded to a diablo HLG light i havent looked back

Light is something you shouldn’t skimp on for your home growing fun, and HLG i have zero complaints with.

A few other members also like Green Beams i believe? I’m not familiar with them but HLG is top notch and has military discounts as well.

But seriously the hlg 350r would be a nice upgrade to your grow. I run a 320xl for veg and a Scorpion Rspec fr for flower in a 4x4

Hey, I appreciate your reply. I never heard anyone using two different lights, one for veg and one for flower. Is this something new for growing? Or is that way just a method to do it better?

Just a method to try and do better. Lighting is everything.

The price paid for them China Cheapie lights was only half my pain. Loosing prime growing time while funding the power company, hurts too.
HLG lighting for my tents now. Tent warmers for winter lung room.
HLG 350R, UVA-30, and 260RKitFR run much cooler, so a summer grow, indoors, will be possible. The difference in grow is amazing.

Actually @BadDog2242 there are companies that make veg and flower boards, some boards that have good levels of both or full spectrum. I use 3 HLG 100s for my 2x6, I have HLG 100 4000k with lots of blue spectrum for veg, then HLG 100s 3000k (no longer available) with lots of reds for flowering, I have two of those, but one is a new HLG 100 Rspec which is a 3500k full spectrum, good for veg or flower. I love having more control over the spectrum. But the full spectrum is great too, simple.

I was wondering what stage of flower do you use the fulvic acid.

Chilled growcraft lights are quality lights. Expensive but great. I use their X1 Mini for starting seeds through early veg. I have the veg spectrum because that is what I use it for.
In your case you want the flowering/full spectrum.

Veg spec will produce more compact bushier plants because of its emphasis on blue.

One issue I see combining the VS4000 and the X3 is the amount of overlap . The VS has a square footprint while the X3 is rectangular.

I also use three HLG 260 rpsec lights. They turn out very nice buds
