Adding UVA-B supplemental lights

I’m looking into the best way to supplement my current set up to add UVA-B lighting along side my 2 HLG 600H lights to cover my 4x8 tent
I ran across this information and would like some feedback regarding the sites claims etc. looks like I could purchase their bulbs at $40 each and use 4 of them and grab some t12 4’ single bulb fixtures and simply hang them on either side of each of the HLG fixtures at a max height of 24" during the entire flowering phase to increase Trichome production / potency and they also make the claim that using these bulbs help prevent the occurrence of powdery mildew and will kill it.
I would like your opinion @dbrn32 when you have a chance.

I am open to other options and I have looking into several others but they are somewhat costly and can be difficult to incorporate along with my existing fixtures on placement and coverage without having it in the way etc.

Thanks for your thoughts in advance and anyone else who has successfully added UV to their existing lighting set up please post your solutions that you incorporated.

Thanks and HAGD

Looking forward to seeing what he suggests. I’m flowering only outdoor right now, but want to do an indoor grow this winter.

For that price you could get x2 300w 2nd generation roleadro lights. I believe they have uva and uvb

Thanks @HornHead
Do you have a link to that light. I did a search and found what I think you were referring to but it is an entire fixture and showed it had IR but didn’t reference UVA-B.
Also the issue would be how to hang it without blocking my main HLG light fixtures while illuminating the 4x4 area with enough saturation.

The idea with what I found above is that the fixture will hang next to the HLG and can be hung at the same or similar height as the HLG providing the coverage without interfering with the HLG coverage.

I think I’m understanding things but not sure as I’m learning.

I’ve never been intrigued enough to mess with supplementing uv. These look as good as anything else available though. If you get them, please keep me posted on results.

@Aolelon could probably help you more, but I haven’t seen him around in a while.

Thanks @dbrn32
Based on my thinking on implementation am I on the right track?
I had some questions on height and coverage between the 2’ and 4’ options as there was some confusing/conflicting statements as I read further on their web site about those.

Anything I told you would just be repeating something that someone else said. Check out YouTube, I know growmau5 has a video where he was going over at least one of the uv bulbs.

I dont know that you would need 4 of them for a 4x8 tent. You can look at HTGsupply at their PureUV bulbs, they are 20$ a peice for the bulb and one of the more powerful ones on the market. I was using the 2ft one. I only used it for one grow so i cant tell you if the results were there or not, but i have noticed a lot of people adding them now.

Thanks @Aolelon for the feedback

I’ve actually looked at the offering from HTG as that is where I bought my tents and a few other items.

Why did you only use it for one grow? Curious as to why you don’t use it anymore?
