AC Infinity Self Watering Fabric Pot Base

No. I’ve been checking lately with a magnifier. Sugar leafs are predominantly cloudy but Trichomes on buds just starting to go. I’ll click some in the morning. Something I’ve not done before.
In all of my previous (3) grows I have harvested a bit too soon. Really working on patience this time

Dont look at sugar leaves. It will mislead you. ALWAYS look at buds. Looking at the leaves will make you want to harvest too soon. (speaking from experience)

Guilty. Not this time. I began this grow with a single plant as a “cold climate grow” experiment. We’re in better shape than I anticipated so I’ll wait as long as she needs. :potted_plant:

As long as she’s still actively drinking, you can wait it out a while. Once you notice you can go a couple days without your water level changing, it’s probably harvest time whether the trichomes are totally done or not.

Got it. Thanks! I’ve been top feeding the last few feedings, using the self-watering basin for water only applications. She’s on a 4 day schedule with top feed. That’s still consistent.
Thanks for your info! :peace_symbol:

Hm. I wouldn’t be alternating between top and bottom watering. It pushes those expended fertilizer salts into the middle of the pot and right into the root zone.

Bottom-feeding is reliant on not watering from the top, because all the buildup that normally disappears in runoff instead pushes up to the surface of your medium.

Not saying it will ruin a grow, but it may make your life unnecessarily difficult and promote nutrient lockout (and crisp up leaves etc) prematurely.

Thank you for this useful info! Live (grow) and learn, right? For sure implement that in next use of these basins. Well down the path on this journey. We’ll see how we finish here…
Thanks again for your input! Grateful :peace_symbol:

Be sure to tag me in when you start the next one.

@GreggT @Graysin here are a few pics of buds & Trichomes. Couldn’t penetrate deep into buds with the macro lens I used. But I think enlarging will give an idea.

From the enlarged pictures I looked at, I would say it’s time!! The pistols are drying and starting to turn in and a lot of amber trichomes.

That’s what I am thinking too. Only a cple of days ago the Trichomes were not as far along. This morning’s check surprised me.
Thanks for your input. Tomorrow just became a much better day! :potted_plant::peace_symbol:

@Ickey thanks! This has been such an enjoyable session. I can’t take much credit. She has had such a will to grow! The aroma has filled the air. I look forward to her buzz. :peace_symbol:

Harvest this morning! Trimmed what leaves I could easily get to and let the remaining go.
For giggles I weighed the “wet” yield with leaves & stems because inquiring minds…
Just under 19 ozs. I know I’ll lose most of that but I’m still very pleased with Morticia’s bounty.
She had the best root system of any previous plant. Bittersweet…

That was meant to be “only” not oily
