Alrighty then, it’s been fun.
You want to play the victim instead of understanding what we’re all trying to explain to you. Fine, I’m a bastard, you win. Bad ILGM… Bad Kaptain3d…
Have a nice life!
congrats
Haha. I just smoked a 2 gram blunt of Watermelon Zkittlez and was thinking that while I was disappointed that I could not enter a competition, I won a different competition without even trying! Oh the irony.
Maybe I really should just go ahead and buy a pack of ILGM seeds so I can enter a contest and win the whole jackpot.
Love you guys
Good Luck, I’ve won it 3 times, so unfortunately I won’t be able to join you. They retired me to the Hall of Fame, so I won’t be able to compete. But it never occurred to me to complain how that’s not fair
Is that Watermelon Zkittlez from Barneys farm? I have been considering running it as well. How is that for you?
Great question! Out of all the bud I grew this year I consider it to be the winner overall. The Super Silver Haze had the best high and also was the largest plant by far but the Watermelon Zkittles had the best appearance and best aroma by far. The high was definitely better than average but the SSH was some of the most powerful weed I have ever smoked. But likewise, I would say the Watermelon Zkittlez has some of the best smell of any weed I’ve ever smoked. The Watermelon Zkittlez had no major flaws wheras I really don’t care for the smell/taste of the SSH. That plant did get kind of fucked up though so I wouldn’t judge the strain based on my own personal experience.
One thing I’ll say about Watermelon Zkittlez as a negative is that it loves to get bacterial leaf spot infections such as Septoria Leaf Spot or Alternaria. This shouldn’t be too surprising as BF says on the description that it has low resistance to funghi/mold. I grew this strain last year too, and it got a couple different types of bacterial leaf spot (septoria and another one I forgot the name of) as well as alternaria. I was unprepared for this and the bud turned out like shit, so I only smoked less than 1% of the bud and didn’t sell any either. It did smell fantastic though, like a candy factory, so I tried it again this year.
This year I was prepared. I had done some research and concluded that OxiDate 2.0 was my best bet. This stuff is very expensive and most places wouldn’t sell it to me as it’s an industrial level product - it’s almost 100% pure Hydrogen Peroxide combined with paracetic acid and due to the high purity this stuff is very dangerous - not once diluted for spraying but in pure form it is no joke.
This year I put the plant in an absolutely perfect spot and yet it still got the leaf spot in late veg! It kept spreading slowly for a week or two but then the OxiDate was delivered abd I sprayed it down. This stuff stopped it right in its tracks. Last year I used a few things like regular hydrogen peroxide and trifecta, but literally every leaf on the plant was eaten by the fungus. But this year, it didn’t have enough time to spread very much and as soon as i sprayed all the bacterial spots faded a bit and then a week later there was just a hole where the leaf spots were. Absolutely insane!
I was growing outdoor in New England and our climate sucks here in terms of mold / fungal issues. If you are growing indoors you have much less to worry about. And this strain doesn’t seem to get much bud rot… it is the leaf spot that you need to be ready for.
Here are some pics of the Watermelon Zkittlez from this year
Thank you. You have convinced me to give it a go @Mastrosso
By the way, Barney’s farm website is running a “up to” 60% off right now! Top that with the 20% off email code “eml20barn” you get up to 80% off.
