I’m hoping too man… that thing looks incredible. Looking forward…
Last year the girls had a head start. They were originally an indoor grow that schedules changed and they had to go outside. So they grew for almost 9 months.
Getting bigger everyday now. The girls like the sunny location. They will get direct sun from 7am to 5pm
Looking great!!
What’s up with summer grow?? Is it the same plants. You just have the autos? I’m just not into autos, granted I only grew 2 but I just like be able to switch at my preferenced size. They took 110 days the one. I do want to try a couple outside in the near future since they grow year round down here. I’m pretty damn sure they grow sugar cane like all year…lol
No those were a buddy’s autos. I had no hand in his grow. It was an indoor grow. My plants are outside in 7 gallon fabric pots. They are just under 2 months old and I believe they are both Maui but at the moment they seem to be two completely different plants. It is just puzzling to me. Have a look. These were taken today.
Yesterday I used my snippers and went to do a FIM. I felt I needed to tell her to start making branches. She has some on the side as you can see but this see grow is very different. The other plant I believe is also a Maui but she came from a plant I grew last year. But I also grew a Durban I just don’t remember which bud the seed came from. They do not seem to be doing badly. They are not auto so this will be an October harvest. They are in a different part of my yard right now. It gets a lot more sun for a longer period of time. I hope they will continue to do well.
So they are both seeds from fem seed grows last year. You got a couple seeds out of plants that you harvested last year and they were both fem seeds originally? I put out 4 reg seeds called Recon and 2 WW that I started inside yesterday. The recon is 6 weeks old tomorrow all topped.
Then I got the 2 WW but I need to up pot everything next weekend. I gut rain all week in the forecast. Ughh
Only one seed made that. I did find two. The other is a seed from my original order. It is certainly the Maui Wowie. I think they both are though. The leaves don’t look like the Durban Poison I grew with it.
I am now convinced that the two plants are the same strain in spite of the odd differences in growth. I will be letting them grow a bit this way then I will start to train them to bend out to expose more branches and leaves to grow even more branches.
I am getting my self set up to start brewing growth tea. I’ve got most of my stuff. I am waiting to get a drain valve for the brew tub. As soon as that comes in I will begin to create my fertilizer tea. Should be fun. I stole a recipe from someone here and I am going to make it the best way I can. It is using worm poop as the main ingredient but also molasses and seaweed. I have the air pump and stones to keep the culture alive.
Yay finally my computer will allow me to put up pictures here again. I had an update to my computer one day and I couldn’t post pictures on this page. I will update you all on the girls later but just for this test here is a leaf on one of my plants. It had 12 leaves on it. Coolest thing I have seen so far.
The girls look good and happy in their new pots. After about a month of watching these beauties grow I noticed that the 7 gallon pots didn’t appear to be big enough for them to grow to their fullest I switched them out. The Durban Poison is in a 20 gallon fabric and the Maui is in a 15 gallon.
My reasoning is simple. I am leaving again for the summer (next week to be precise) to the Land of the Morning Calm, South Korea. I was there last year getting implant surgery done and we will go back to complete the process. It’s a tough time to be going but… it is the only time I will have for the foreseeable future so I am off.
I have installed and I am running a drip irrigation for an early morning watering everyday. With them in pots this makes the most sense since I cannot monitor them. It is on a battery powered timing system. It worked like a champ last year.
Cool to have you back. Your girls are looking great.
Back from Korea. Long time gone and a new lesson learned. Do not use bonsai wire like a Bonsai tree and leave for a long time. Boy those wires can do some serious damage. If you look at the girls they are doing okay but have been stressed out due to my faux pas. Oh well so I lost about 50% of the potential yield. Still considering these two strains gave me 2 pounds of weed last year 1 pound will be fine for me. Next summer I am not going to Korea. We will go after harvest next year. Somewhere around late October early November I think.
So one branch did try to flower and then just couldn’t survive so I harvested it. In that trimming I found 6 new seeds. This investment of pot seeds from ILGM 2 years ago is paying forward. Maybe I can find a seed or two in the Maui when I harvest. So the branch yielded this as for buds.
This was while I was trimming it up and beginning the drying process.
Dangum dang ol big tree!!!
Does she know when you Said don’t trim this one?? Or you just let her trim some since it’s huge … No harm no foul and take it for the team non the wiser.lol
She knows very well. She is a bright lady and very kind. Most of the plants in my yard are there with her approval and placement. It is just autumn here in MA and nights are starting to get cooler. I am going to let the girls grow. My mother in law had wished she had seen my wire damage while I was gone. She felt really bad that I lost some major branches. Oh well, next year I am probably going to have one photo and 4 autos. I ordered the Bakers Mix from here. Wedding Cake, Cherry Pie and Girl Scout Cookies Extreme. I am going to be home the entire summer and will be working my yard exclusively with golf as a break while things are caught up in the yard.
