Hey guys! Been fighting Magnesium deficiency recently. I was using Jack’s 321 at 3.78 Part A, 2.42 Part B, and .98 Epsom Salt as per the formula that was on their website at the time. Started giving more Magnesium but I actually don’t recall how much more. Then I started a nutrient reservoir so I don’t have to mix every feed. For the reservoir I reverted back to Jack’s at 3.6Part A, 2 4 Calcium Nitrate, 1.2 Epsom Salt…
What I want to know, is if this still looks like Magnesium deficiency to yall? I believe it is, and the leaves with the spots are just leaves in late Magnesium deficiency damage? I have never actually seen each stage of the leaf damage so I’m just wanting to make sure. I’m worried about misdiagnosing it.
If you guys think it’s still Magnesium deficiency I will just increase Magnesium Sulfate to 1.4g /gallon
And my question was what are the symptoms of a rootbound plant? I’m worried that my plant may get rootbound since it is a rather small vessel.
Actually another question, if I use 1.4g / gallon Epsom Salt and it fixes the deficiency, should I start with 1.4g next grow? I know things can be strain/pheno dependant, but also using high efficacy LEDs, so more Magnesium may be in order anyways?
I don’t believe you have a mag deficiency. Looks like nitrogen or maybe sulfur.

Hmmm I was thinking Nitrogen too… How can you tell the difference?
Nitrogen and if that’s the case most likely all nutes. I would switch to Cal mag and drop the salt
I’m going to add more Calcium Nitrate. Increase from 2.4g to 2.6g.

Look there in the flower stage they are probably lacking potassium and phosphorus rather then magnesium, coz in the flower stage they need more potassium and phosphorus for flowering

I was wondering why it would be Nitrogen if it’s not in veg anymore, but I don’t know enough about deficiencies yet. Damage doesn’t look consistent with phosphorus, nor Potassium to me though based off of Dutch Passions "A Visual Guide to Cannabis Deficiencies "
Will look into this.
This is the chart I use. See how the whole of the leaf is yellowing? The mag def shows green on the ends. That’s not happening on your plant that I can see. Looks like yellowing from the tips.
This may be the source of your problem. I wouldn’t recommend transplanting at this stage, but next grow think larger pot.

Looking at ur plant again i did see something on this site that someone else had this problem and people were saying its common for older fan leaves to go yellow and drop off that maybe it aswell so many different things it could be ,i would get rid of those leaves that are yellow to clean up the plant and make her look nice again and if more leaves start goin yellow u know ur got a deficiency of some sort
Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for. The thought process and what to look for. This makes sense.
Yeah I kinda let her veg too long. I didn’t want her this large to begin with but underestimated her stretch.
@Aussie_autos its a rectangular planter. 16 inch length by 6 inch width and height.
I would either let her go or transplant her now into a bigger pot

Yeah so I am just going to give some more Calcium Nitrate and see what happens. I don’t really want to transplant her right now. Plus I would have to get another rectangular, oval, or VERY large round pot… Buying another pot for a method I may not do again doesn’t make sense to me.
Did you use any mpk fir the first 3 weeks of flipping to 12/12?
When I flip to 12/12 I change from jacks 321 to jacks 222 and 1.2 g of mpk per gallon fir the first 3 weeks and then switch back to jacks 321 and no more mpk.
Good luck
