Ceasefire

A lot of people are afraid of getting busted by the man. I’ve already been there, done that, and got the shirt to prove it, at least five times that i can recall. All of this incriminating evidence doesn’t bother me because cannabis is being legalized everywhere around us and it’s just a matter of time before it’s legal everywhere. They are letting people out of jail for cannabis charges so i say scared money no money, risk = reward plus make sure you have a ton of guns and ammo, water and clif bars :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

To clear up any confusion, let me make myself specifically clear- any evidence from this blog would technically be considered entrapment considering the beans were purchased from the same outfit. Therefore im innocent of any crimes plus all of the old convictions, too.

Finally got around to programming the automatic timer outlets for the lights and realized that they are polarized yet don’t support grounded plugs. Doh! That’s my fault for not paying attention during purchase. Have a free return scheduled. In the meantime I transplanted the last two lil babies this morning aftering discovering that one of yesterday’s transplants is knocking on heaven’s door and looking like death warmed over. Surprised to see that it’s not the cut one or the one with droopy leaves and an abundance of roots, yet was the one in the middle. Pretty sure i accidentally hurt it by transplanting too soon, considering it’s root system looked weak and i was kinda rough with the transfer process. The fungus gnats were all over it this morning, so it’ll be a miracle if she survives. I almost put it out of it’s misery after seeing how sad she looks today, yet it’s not my place to kill what may end up growing stronger and recovering from the trauma. The difference between the three lil ones transplanted yesterday is that i didn’t use peat pots and peat moss pellets for germinating them, whereas the two transplants today that are now in five gallon buckets went into peat pots with peat moss and look smaller yet more mature than the other three. The white widow definitely seems more resilient to mold mildew and pests. Am hoping that these super skunk beans will make it through and eventually into the flower tent. Probably won’t use the peat pots and pellets again because i noticed that they have a tendency to inhibit the majority of roots from spreading out. Will just leave them in the small pots longer next time to build up a stronger root base. The peat pots didn’t biodegrade like the package claimed. I was able to remove half of the peat pot from one plant, yet couldn’t do so with the other without risking harm to the roots. Oh, one last observation for now is that the fly ribbon off gas’s chemicals into the air and so they’ve been removed from the lil babie’s tent and hung in front of the fan instead. The whole tent stuck like fly tape when I checked in this morning. Am praying that the sick plant has the will to live. I lightly misted it with aloe vera water and am waiting to see if she is meant to keep growing stronger or give up the ghost

You may still experience fungus gnats from time to time with coco coir, it’s a somewhat inviting environment to them when it’s used more hydroponically from the constant moist conditions, I counter them with a top soil of perlite since it’s ph neutral, it’s pretty cheap as well. You can also look for a root drench that has bacillus thuringiensis to help give a line of defense to them, I use fox farm kangaroots for it.

A mixture of 70% coco to 30% perlite will give your roots a oxygen rich environment, I try to ‘waterfall’ my nutrient solution to help inject as much O2 into it at 68 degrees sticking to 5.8 ph in veg and 6.1-2 in flower. Girls are looking better though! Always supplement 4 ml/g of calimagic to coco nute solution, ALWAYS. You may be able to go lighter with that brand of coco, but better safe than sorry! After calimagic give your water your base nutrients at full strength as recommended by the company, you want to make sure you get the correct NER and NPK ratio doing this, then after phing, dilute you’re solution before applying to your girls to the correct EC level to avoid nutrient burn. Keep this EC level constant with each feed, increasing slowly and not drastically when needed to avoid nutrient lock outs/ph drifts.

If you’re needing easy access to RO water I suggest a 4 stage RODI filter on Amazon, they’re usually on sale and about $60 for 1500 gallons on RO water

Thanks so much for the great advice and excellent info. Definitely some intelligent ideas; your kindness is truly appreciated. After laying the sick plant to rest a few days ago i endeavored to declutter and sterile the small and large lung rooms. It was like opening up a can of worms after finding several black mold spores in various locations underneath the floor covering. The worst part was having to remediate it all very quickly while working around a bunch of stuff, including the grow tents. Thankfully it’s all clean and the babies are still growing stronger each day. I mixed a handful of 10-10-10 fertilizer into these four lil one’s pots last week while transplanting, and now the two in front are bigger than the other two that have been growing for twice as long. They’re (the two more mature gals in 5gal pails) like bonsai trees, due to rough living conditions and roots being confined inside tiny peat pots for so long. Thankfully, all four are finally beginning to show more vegetation and color

The long awaited, highly anticipated solutions have arrived in gallon jugs. pH up and down plus Flora micro, veg, and bloom. Mixed half a gallon of micro + veg and another half gallon of micro + bloom. Tested the pH and adjusted as needed before giving three 15oz bottles to the big babies and two 15oz bottles to the lil babies, split equally. So far it’s been about twenty hours and they all seem pretty happy. Made sure to rinse off any nutrients that accidentally landed on the leaves immediately afterwards. The pictures above were taken just after the first feeding yesterday afternoon. Also made sure to record it on a calendar so that they aren’t overwhelmed by lockout. Can’t wait to post the next set of pics considering they’re growing in leaps and bounds. Only used a 1/2 teaspoon for measuring, since i cut the recommended dose in half for both jugs. Will probably only feed the big babies one more time in two weeks, then only distilled water until the end. By then the lil ones will probably need that big tent :circus_tent: :skunk::skunk::skunk::skunk:

It’s been a day since the first Flora feeding, and these lil babies are all looking happy. Soon the younger two in the front will be taller than the elder two. These super skunk are more of a challenge to grow, yet im learning a lot in the process so it’s good for exp. Currently have 20 super silver haze beans in the ilgm shopping cart waiting to be bought! Looking forward to that learning experience in the near future and must say that the products here are very impressive, superb quality indeed. Will definitely have to pick up more white widow because it’s doing great here and was easy to grow even for a noob like me. Hopefully everyone is doing well and healthy, too

I raised both LEDs up higher yesterday; it seemed to help. This may sound silly yet i think all of the babies like the happy music and prefer it over the sounds of war from cod mobile. I even made a point of buying wireless earbuds so that they won’t hear the violent cell phone game. In the future I’ll have to be more mindful of when i plant seeds, such as labels with a date & strain, since ive just been winging it. Pretty sure the ww were planted mid dec and i dunno about any of the four ss. No biggie since they’ll have to wait to switch tents after the first harvest, Lord willing. Am going to see how much the ss can grow in the meantime. This hobby is so much fun wish id of started years ago, better late than never for sure

A study was done on plants/music , they rekin classical (or music with a lot of F notes ) shows more plant response than rock/rap/pop , I have a little am/fm tuner in my tank , set to classical music fm lol no idea if it helps but it’s funny to open the door up to a well timed symphony

Get something underneath your pots to elevate them off the ground also! Even with holes on the bottom water will pool, became stale, deprived of oxygen, and will build up nutrient salts causing nute burn or ph lock outs, worst of all it’ll cause your roots to sit in it, get (wet feet) die and rot possibly taking your plant, or harvest, with it. Feel free to reach out if you ever need anything or @ me! I haven’t got a successful harvest yet, but I’ll help curve you any info I can! I keep making the mistake of going to other forums, reading and copying someone only to stress girls out. Keep doing you, find the style that suits you and stick with it! My last Grow I kept a journal recording each day anything I did to the plant, easy to reflect when you see something they don’t like and adjust, I didn’t keep one this Grow and it hasn’t been as well lol.

If you end up doing any other soil Grows, water with distilled, catching a little of the run off water and measure it with your tds/ec meter, once you see the ec drop significantly a month (or two?) In you can do nutes without having interactions or extreme ppm in the soil. Once you get the coco and start using it, feed nutes EVERY water, never ever EVER put straight RO or distilled water in, it’ll disrupt your rhizosphere that you’re trying to maintain. It’s a little pricy, but I HIGHLY suggest Recharge for coco and soil, makes nutrients ph range slightly wider and helps brings nutes to the roots, while helping it build defenses against pathogens.

So far all’s well on the eastern front. They’re loving the Flora feeding and even with the one they’re looking way better. Can’t wait to keep learning more
