I know the old leaves on the bottom start dying off but last week there were only two or three yellows now it seems to be getting a lot worse.
I have a history of over watering and with the heat wave we had I went from every 3rd day to every other day, I would like reassurance that this is not contributing to the yellowing. I also am just now going back to every 3rd because the heat has dropped a bit.
Should I trim the yellow leaves off or just let dry up and drop off, which is pretty much what I have been doing.
They are Blue Cheese Photo’s
I’ve been giving them “BIG Blooms & Buds” Brandin their medium dosage of 1 oz per gal./per week plus Cal/Mag
When they start flowering I’m planning on using the ILGM flowering.
Do they look like they’re suffering from malnutrition, They are a bit thin.
Big bloom sounds loke a flowering nutrient to me any reason of why they are getting bloom nutes and not vegetative nutes it looks like a mobile nutrient deficiency to me as it seems to habe started at the bottom and is working its way up either than that they are beautiful and look healthy
The Big Blooms& Buds is a 3 stage kit (Grow, Bloom, Bud) I am using the Growing stage for these(N5,P4,K2). The 2nd stage is Bloom(N2,p5,k1) do you think that I should be at that stage.
This stuff is nothing more than fish and kelp concentrates and am not so sure as to why I bought this one but I did. As I said I do have the ILGM notes for flower stage.
Id just continue doing what your doing but possibly up the dosage a little what kind of PPM is ypur feed coming out at and does it state to only feed once a week that to me sound almost like it would be starving the plant out
It actually says to feed “Bi-Weekly or Monthly” and that’s what bothers me about this brand, nothing is straight forward. " says you can feed 1/2oz - 2oz and bi-weekly to monthly. too wishy washy for my liking.
I got the once a week just from a discussion here and not on this particular product, I believe it was just a discussion on overfeeding and nuet burn.
I think I’m going to get more of Bergman’s nuets, they were doing well on them and I ran out, like I said, IDK why I switched.
I have no way of getting and measuring runoff.
If you dont own a ph and ppm meter id highly suggest getting them especially when using salt based nutrients its important to keep up on those numbers id personally up the feedings to atleast 2x a week 1 time a week jusy sounds very inadequate to me
The extra outdoor heat can dry them out very quickly. I’m watering 5gal pots daily. Feed only when they need it. Good organic soil can go a long way when you keep it healthy, but that heat should have you checking on them more. The plant is probably taking nutes from the older leaves most likely killing them off in order to sustain. It’s just a guess tho. I go out once a day to wilting plants at times because of excessive drying of the medium. I’m unable to always be around to tend to it so it sucks, but these plants are resilient as hell. I hear silica helps them deal with heat & drought a little better.
I have been making a concerted effort to properly water these guys and I do check them for the moisture daily. I reach my hand under the pots and slide my hand down the inside of the pots, It would start to dry out by the second day during that heat wave so I watered then. These are in 15 gal pots.
Looking good Grow Bro, looks perfectly normal for the location of those yellowing leaves. The Mobil Nutrients have moved where their needed. Pluck them off, all good and well done on those monsters
I know what you mean. It seems like they’re starving. My impulse response would be to feed more. However if the problem is with uptake, and not the food in the medium it can lead to nutrient burn, or possibly an abundance of one nutrient locking out one, or multiple others.
Yeah I get what your saying and there’s no way of knowing any of that without numbers… I just can’t spring for that stuff this grow, possibly next season.
Thanks for your opinion, appreciated.
